Alright, alright, lemme tell ya ’bout this Genshin Impact thing, this game my grandkid’s always yappin’ about. Sounds like a whole lotta work to me, but they say it’s fun. Somethin’ ’bout trails and farmin’ and whatnot. Don’t ask me, I just listen and nod.
So, first thing they talk about is these “farmin’ routes.” Imagine that, farmin’ in a game! Like we ain’t got enough real farmin’ to do! Anyway, they got these maps, see? Maps for gettin’ stuff. One’s a real long one, takes near five hours they say. Five hours! I coulda weeded the whole garden in that time. Then there’s a shorter one, ’bout an hour. That’s more like it, I guess. They download these maps from somewhere, said it’s from the “video description”. Kids these days with their fancy gadgets.
Then there’s this “elite farmin’ route.” Sounds scary, right? Elite farmin’. Like you’re fightin’ some super chickens or somethin’. Turns out it’s about killin’ a hundred of these “elites” in the game. Gotta do it four times, they say, to get the most out of it. Less runnin’ around, they promise. Good, ’cause my knees ain’t what they used to be. And they have made “infographic” for this, I didn’t understand that but it sounded very convenient.
They keep talkin’ ’bout “resin” and “routes.” Green routes are the best, they say, for gettin’ the most bang for your buck. Whatever that means. Something about using your time well. I always say, time’s precious, don’t waste it on silly things! But they seem happy, so who am I to judge.
- First, you gotta get them talent books and weapon mats. Sounds like school supplies to me. Gotta get ’em on certain days, too. Like the market day, I guess.
- Then you gotta fight the bosses. Any day is fine for that, they say.
- After that, you go after the little critters and the “local specialties.” Sounds like pickin’ berries and mushrooms to me.
- Last thing is them “artifacts.” They say there’s no real way to get better at findin’ them, just gotta keep lookin’. Like findin’ a good husband, I tell ya.
And this game, it keeps growin’. They got new areas poppin’ up all the time. The newest one is up north, past some valley. More places to wander around in, I guess. More stuff to farm. It never ends, does it?
They also mentioned about “creator tool”, you can make your own route with it, and a map only has permanent resources. My kids said they even have “desktop app”, I don’t know what it means, but it seems useful. They use this tool “gathering materials and completing tasks”, like we are going to the market to buy stuffs. They also mentioned that there is a leak of the map and they know where is the last new area. They know all about it! My kids said “Compilation of the best and most efficient routes for gathering materials, completing tasks.” I asked what is “compilation”? And they said it’s “to collect several things and put them together”. That sounds like picking crops from the field!
So, that’s the gist of it. Genshin Impact. Trails, farmin’, bosses, and a whole lotta stuff I don’t understand. But hey, if it keeps the kids outta trouble, I ain’t complainin’. Just wish they’d help out with the real farmin’ a little more, is all.
They always tell me “Short answer: either focus on the green routes for the highest resin/hr.”, but I really don’t understand what is resin and hour rate in the game. I hope they can find some time teaching me about these instead of always playing the game. At least I wanna know what are they talking about when they are so excited about the trails and farming routines.
Anyway, it seems like a lot of planning and work in this Genshin Impact trails thing. Just like real life, I guess. You gotta figure out where to go, what to get, and how to do it efficient. Maybe that’s why they like it so much. Teaches ’em somethin’ about work ethic, even if it’s just in a game. Or maybe it’s just a good way to kill time. Who knows? I’m just an old woman, what do I know about these fancy games?
