They got all them golfers, hitting that little white ball. Trying to get it in the hole. They walk and walk, all over that green grass. Sun beating down. Must be tiring.
That Fortinet Thing
That Fortinet Championship, they call it. Sounds like a mouthful. But it’s important, I reckon. They say it’s the end of something. Some big tour, where they play all year. And this is the last one.
Ten fellas, they get to go to some other big thing. Korn Ferry Tour, I hear ’em say. Sounds like a place where they grow corn! But it’s another golf thing. They’re movin’ up in the world, them ten are. Good for them. Hard work pays off, that’s what I always say.

Them Golf Fellas
They got some big names playin’, I reckon. Heard some names on the radio. Some fella named Corey, another one called Maverick. And a Webb. Like a spider’s web. Funny names, these young folks have.
They all wanna win that money. Big money, too. I heard someone say a million dollars! Can you imagine? That’s more money than I’ve seen in my whole life. Could buy a whole lot of chickens with that kind of money.
They got that course, Silverado. Sounds like a movie. Par 72. Don’t know what that means. But it sounds important. Lots of walking, I bet. Hope they got good shoes.
Playin’ in the Fall
This Fortinet Championship is in the fall, too. Leaves are turnin’, weather’s gettin’ cooler. Good time for golf, I suppose. Not too hot, not too cold. Just right.
They got some other fellas playin’, too. Some local fella, Hideki. Sounds like he’s from far away. And another one, Xander. Another funny name. And a Morikawa. They say he’s won this thing before. He must be good.

More About This Golf Thing
This golf thing, it’s a mystery to me. But them fellas sure do take it seriously. They practice all the time. Swingin’ them clubs, tryin’ to get that ball just right. It’s hard work, I can tell you that.
This Fortinet Championship, it’s just one of many, I guess. They got tournaments all over the place. All year long. Keeps ’em busy, that’s for sure. Keeps ’em out of trouble, too. Better than sittin’ around doin’ nothin’, I reckon.
These young fellas, they got it good. Travelin’ around, playin’ golf. Makin’ lots of money. It’s a good life, if you can get it.

Well, I hope they all have a good time at that Fortinet Championship. May the best man win, that’s what I say. And may they all stay safe and healthy. It’s a long road, this golf thing.
And who knows, maybe one day one of them fellas will come to our little town. Play a round at our little course. Wouldn’t that be somethin’? We’d all come out to watch, that’s for sure.

I don’t know much else about this Fortinet Championship field, to tell you the truth. But I been hearin’ about it on the radio, and folks been talkin’. So I figured I’d tell you what I know. Hope it makes sense. My head ain’t what it used to be. But I try my best. It’s important, that Fortinet Championship, in some kind of way, to them golf players. I think they all want to get to play in that thing. And win a lot of money.
