Okay, so today I got into this whole Rory McIlroy plane thing. Let me tell you, it was a bit of a wild ride. I’m not even sure how I stumbled onto it, but I did, and down the rabbit hole I went.
Getting Started
First off, I started with a simple search. Just typed in “Rory McIlroy plane” and hit enter. A bunch of stuff popped up, mostly news articles and some forum discussions. It seemed like people were talking about his private jet and some environmental concerns. I clicked on a few articles and started reading.
Digging Deeper
After getting the basic gist, I wanted to know more. The articles mentioned a particular flight tracking website, so I figured I’d check that out. I’m not great with these kinds of sites, but I managed to find the search bar and typed in Rory’s name. I couldn’t find the plane immediately.
I realized I needed the plane’s tail number, not just Rory’s name. Back to the search results I went, and this time I focused on finding that tail number. It took a few more clicks, but I finally found it in a forum thread. It was N5557R apparently he had that number for a while.
Tracking the Flight
Armed with the tail number, I went back to the tracking site and entered it in. Boom! There it was. His plane’s flight history was right there. I started scrolling through the recent flights. It was actually pretty crazy to see all the places he’d been. Palm Beach, Dublin, you name it.
Checking the Details
- I clicked on a few of the flights to see more details. Things like departure and arrival times, flight duration, and even the altitude were all there. It was kind of cool to see the flight path mapped out on the screen.
- I did notice that some of the flights were pretty short. That kind of made me think about the whole environmental impact thing again.
Wrapping Up
So, yeah, that was my afternoon. I went from knowing nothing about Rory McIlroy’s plane to basically tracking his every move. I even found a couple of forums where people were discussing this stuff. It’s funny how you can get sucked into these things.
Anyway, it was an interesting little adventure. Not sure if I’ll keep tracking his flights, but it was definitely a unique way to kill a few hours. If you’re ever bored and want to feel like a bit of a detective, give it a try. Just be prepared to go down a rabbit hole!
