Okay, so I’ve been trying to get my golf swing in better shape, and I heard about these “golf bands” that are supposed to help. I figured, why not give it a shot? I ordered a set online – nothing fancy, just some basic resistance bands.

When they arrived, I honestly had no clue where to start. I mean, they’re just stretchy loops, right? So, I did what anyone would do: I went online and started watching some videos.
Figuring Out the Basics
Turns out, there are tons of different exercises you can do with these things. I started with some simple ones, focusing on my shoulders and back.
- Shoulder Rotations: I put the band around my wrists and did some basic external rotations. Felt pretty easy at first, but after a few reps, I could definitely feel the burn.
- Back Rows: I stood on the band and pulled it up, like I was rowing a boat. This one was tougher than I expected! My back muscles were definitely working.
I did a few sets of each, trying to keep the movements slow and controlled. I wasn’t trying to break any records, just get a feel for it.
Getting into the Swing of Things
After a week or so of doing those basic exercises, I decided to try some that were more specific to the golf swing.
I watched a video where a guy put the band around his lead leg and then pretended that his lead leg was doing a real golf swing.

I also found some other exercises that used a door, It was little weird, but I could see how it was supposed to mimic the resistance you feel during a real swing.
I’ve been trying to do these exercises, along with the basic ones, a few times a week.
The Results (So Far)
It’s still early days, but I think I’m starting to feel a difference. My shoulders and back feel a little stronger, and I feel like I have a bit more control over my swing. I’m not hitting the ball any further yet, but my accuracy seems a little better. Maybe it’s just the placebo effect, but hey, I’ll take it!
I’m definitely going to keep using these bands. They’re easy to use, don’t take up much space, and I can do the exercises pretty much anywhere. Plus, it’s kind of a fun little workout. Who knows, maybe I’ll actually improve my golf game this year!
