Alright, so, I wanted to snag that Battle Panther mount in Final Fantasy XIV. I heard it was a grind, but I was up for the challenge. Here’s how I got it done.
Step One: Unlocking the Requirements
First things first, I had to get my hands on all the Shadowbringers Extreme trials. That meant leveling up my character to 80 and finishing the main story quests in Shadowbringers. Luckily, I was already there, so I just needed to make sure I had unlocked all the Extreme versions of those trials. This involved talking to some NPCs and doing a few quests. Nothing too crazy.
Step Two: Grinding Out the Totems
Each Extreme trial drops a specific totem, and I needed a bunch of those to trade for the mount. So I started running those trials. A lot. Over and over again. I joined parties through the Duty Finder, or sometimes I made my own with friends and we practiced the fight together. Some days were good, some were bad, we wiped a lot, but hey, that’s part of the game. I tried to do a few runs every day to make steady progress.
- The Crown of the Immaculate (Extreme): This one was actually kind of fun. The mechanics were interesting, and once you got the hang of it, it wasn’t too bad.
- Minstrel’s Ballad: Hades’s Elegy: Oh boy, this one was tough. Took a while to learn all the phases, but eventually, we got it down.
- The Seat of Sacrifice (Extreme): I think this one had the coolest music. The fight was a bit of a dance, but we managed.
- Memoria Misera (Extreme): This one was a real pain, lots of mechanics to remember, but after a few times, it was okay.
- Cinder Drift (Extreme): This one was not that hard.
- The Dancing Plague (Extreme): This one was not that hard.
- Chitose Get You!! (Extreme): I didn’t like this one because I had to be very focused.
Step Three: Trading for the Mount
After what felt like forever, I finally had enough totems. I just made my way back to the NPC who hands out the mount, and traded the totems in for my shiny new Battle Panther. Boom! Got it.
It was a long grind, no doubt, but totally worth it. That mount looks so cool, and it’s a nice reminder of all the hard work I put in. If you’re thinking about getting it, my advice is to just be patient and keep at it. Find some friends to run the trials with, and you’ll get there eventually. Good luck!
