Alright, so I’ve been grinding like crazy to get my Childe ready for… well, everything. Seriously, that guy needs a lot of stuff. Today was all about the “farming for Childe” life, and let me tell you, it was a journey.

Getting Started: The Dreaded Oceanid
First things first, I needed those Cleansing Hearts. And that means, ugh, the Oceanid. I swear, that fight is just… annoying. Not hard, exactly, just tedious.
- Team Prep: I went in with my trusty Ganyu (freeze is queen!), Fischl (for easy Electro-Charged), Bennett (because, duh), and Zhongli (shields up!).
- The Grind: Okay, picture this: waves of annoying water birds, those stupid squirrels that explode, and the Oceanid just chilling, taunting me. Round after round, I chipped away, froze everything I could, and prayed for decent RNG.
It took a good few runs, swapping characters in and out when they got low, making sure my bursts were timed right… it was a whole thing. But hey, I eventually got enough Cleansing Hearts to level up his talents a bit more. Small victories, right?
Next Up: Talent Books (Teachings of Freedom)
After the Oceanid drama, I needed to hit up the Forsaken Rift domain for those Teachings of Freedom talent books. Thankfully, it’s available on Mondays, Thursdays, and Sundays. Lucky for me, It’s a Sunday.
- Domain Strategy: This one’s pretty straightforward. It’s a Cryo domain, so I bring my Pyro characters like Xiangling and Bennett to melt everything.
- Repeat, Repeat, Repeat: Let’s be real, domains are just a repetitive cycle of smashing enemies and hoping for good drops. I did a few runs, fueled by condensed resin, and managed to snag a decent amount of green and blue books.
I spent a good chunk of time in this domain, basically just going through the motions. It’s not the most exciting part of the game, but it’s necessary if you want those sweet, sweet talent upgrades.
The Hunt for Recruit’s Insignias
My last big task for the day was farming Fatui Skirmishers for Recruit’s Insignias. Those guys are scattered all over the place, so I just hopped around my usual farming routes.

- My Usual Spots: I’ve got these marked on my map – a few spots in Liyue, some around Dragonspine… basically anywhere I remember encountering those pesky Fatui.
- Whack-a-Fatui: It’s literally just running around, finding groups of Fatui, and beating them up. My Keqing made quick work of them, slicing and dicing with her Electro powers.
Honestly, this part was almost relaxing after the Oceanid. Just some good old-fashioned monster hunting. I collected a good pile of insignias, enough to make a dent in Childe’s ascension materials.
Wrapping Up the Day
So, that was my day of “farming for Childe.” It was long, it was grindy, but I made some progress! I got some Cleansing Hearts, a bunch of talent books, and a healthy stack of insignias. Childe’s still not quite where I want him to be, but he’s getting there.
Tomorrow? Probably more of the same. The grind never truly ends, does it? But hey, that’s the life of a Genshin player. At least I know my Childe will be a beast when I’m finally done!
