Okay, so today I wanna share my experience with the Pokemon Go Archipelago challenge. It was a bit of a grind, but totally worth it in the end.

It all started when I saw the announcement for the Archipelago event. I was like, “Alright, let’s do this!” The main goal was to collect different Vivillon patterns by pinning postcards from trainers all over the world. Seemed easy enough, right?
First thing I did was hit up my friends list. I already had a bunch of international buddies from previous events. I started sending gifts and asking them to send me postcards from their regions. Some were super responsive, others… not so much. That’s just how it goes, I guess.
Then, I jumped on some online Pokemon Go communities. There are tons of groups where people share their friend codes and specify which region they’re from. I added a bunch of new friends specifically for this event. It was a little overwhelming at first, managing all those friend requests and gifts, but I quickly got into a groove.
The key was staying organized. I made a simple spreadsheet to track which regions I still needed. I noted down who I had added from each region, and whether they’d sent me a postcard yet. Sounds nerdy, I know, but it really helped me stay on top of things.
I spent a good chunk of time each day just opening gifts and pinning postcards. Some days I’d get lucky and find exactly what I needed. Other days it felt like I was just getting the same regions over and over again. RNG can be a real pain sometimes!

One thing I learned was the importance of being a good gift-giver myself. The more gifts I sent, the more gifts I received. It’s a two-way street. I tried to send gifts daily, even if I didn’t need anything myself. Just being a good neighbor, you know?
There were definitely some frustrating moments. Like when I’d get a postcard from the right region, but I accidentally deleted it before pinning it. Ugh, that was the worst! Or when I’d add someone from a rare region, and they’d never send me a gift. But I just kept grinding, kept adding new friends, and kept sending gifts.
Finally, after a couple of weeks of intense postcard pinning, I completed the Archipelago challenge! I got all the different Vivillon patterns. The satisfaction was immense! It felt like a real accomplishment.
Here’s a quick recap of what I did:
- Added lots of international friends from online communities.
- Sent and received gifts daily.
- Stayed organized with a spreadsheet.
- Persisted through the frustrating moments.
So yeah, that was my Pokemon Go Archipelago adventure. It took some time and effort, but it was a fun and rewarding experience. If you’re planning on tackling a similar challenge in the future, just remember to stay organized, be patient, and don’t give up!
