Well now, let me tell ya ’bout this golf thingy, the “Creator Classic Golf Leaderboard.” Sounds fancy, don’t it? But it’s just a bunch of folks hittin’ a little white ball around a big ol’ field. Don’t get me wrong, some of them are pretty good at it, but still… it’s just a game, ain’t it?
So, they got this fella, Wesley Bryan. He was doin’ real good, got a “-2.” That means he hit the ball less times than they thought he should, I reckon. Then there’s a bunch of ’em bunched up at “-1”: Roger Steele, Sean Walsh, and Luke Kwon. Luke, he won some kind of playoff thingy. Guess he was the best of the “-1” bunch.
The Game Itself
Now, the way they play this game is kinda strange. They wanna make 18 birdies. What’s a birdie, you ask? Well, it’s like when you do somethin’ good, like gettin’ an extra piece of pie, but in golf, it means you hit the ball in the hole in fewer strokes than they expect. They say makin’ 18 birdies in one go is near impossible. Like tryin’ to catch a greased pig at the county fair!
One time, this fella Sam Snead, he got a real low score, a 59. Folks say that’s the best ever in a big competition. And Tommy Bolt, he got a 60 once. See, the lower the number the better. It’s like countin’ eggs, ya want more eggs but in golf, ya want fewer hits. Makes no sense if ya ask me!

Then there’s a bunch more fellas, Brad Dalke and Micah somethin’-or-other, they got an “E.” That means they did just as good as they was supposed to, I guess. Not too bad, not too good, just… eh.
East Lake Showdown
They played this here Creator Classic at a place called East Lake. Fancy, huh? They only played on the back 9 holes, whatever that means. It’s like only eatin’ half your dinner. After 8 holes, the best four fellas had to play some more on the 18th hole. Sudden death, they call it. Sounds scary, but I don’t think nobody actually died. It just means if you mess up, you’re out! If they was still tied after that 18th hole, I don’t know what they’d do. Probably play another hole, I guess. These golf folks, they sure do like to drag things out.
My Take on Golf
Now, I ain’t never played golf myself. Seems like a lot of walkin’ around for not much doin’. And them little white balls, they always get lost in the tall grass, just like my chickens do sometimes! But these folks, they seem to take it real serious. They got their special clothes and their fancy clubs, and they talk about “pars” and “eagles” and all sorts of things I don’t understand. It’s like a whole ‘nother language.
Creator Classic 2024
This particular leaderboard thingy, the 2024 Creator Classic, I guess it’s a big deal for these golf fellas. They get their names up on a board, and people clap for ’em. And maybe they win some money too, I don’t know. Money ain’t everything, ya know. But if it makes ’em happy, then I guess it’s alright. Me, I’d rather be in my garden, tendin’ to my tomatoes. At least I know what I’m doin’ there.
So, that’s the story of this Creator Classic Golf Leaderboard, as best as I can tell it. It’s a game of hittin’ balls and countin’ numbers, and some folks are real good at it, and some folks just ain’t. And that’s all there is to it, far as I can see. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go feed them chickens.
