Okay, so check it, today I’m gonna walk you through my experience with the all-star game pack in MLB The Show 23. I know, I know, everyone’s been ripping packs left and right, but I wanted to share my own adventure, the ups, the downs, and the ultimate (or not so ultimate) pulls.

First off, I saved up a ton of stubs. Like, I grinded conquest maps, played a bunch of mini-seasons, flipped cards on the market – the whole shebang. My goal? To snag a few of those All-Star Game packs and hopefully pull a monster card. I mean, who doesn’t dream of hitting a dinger with a souped-up player?
The Stub Grind: Seriously, the stub grind is real. I spent hours just playing the game, doing moments, anything to earn those precious stubs. I was watching TV, half paying attention, just mashing buttons. It’s mind-numbing, but it’s gotta be done if you don’t want to drop real cash.
Pack Opening Time!: Finally, I had enough stubs to buy a few packs. I went to the shop, bought a couple of the All-Star Game choice packs, and headed over to the pack opening screen. The anticipation was KILLING me.
Here’s the breakdown of my pulls, one pack at a time:
- Pack 1: Okay, the first pack. Animation was decent, lights flashing, music pumping. Then… drumroll… A 90 overall player. Not bad, not great. Solid filler for my lineup, maybe I can flip him for some stubs later. I pulled some other common cards in that pack that were useless, quick sell fodder.
- Pack 2: Second pack, I’m feeling lucky! Skipped the animation (who has time for that?). And… another 90 overall. Ugh. Seriously? Same exact overall, different player, useless card to me, and same quick sell fodder. This is getting annoying. I did manage to pull a stadium card that sold for a couple thousand stubs though.
- Pack 3: Okay, last pack. This is where the magic happens, right? I did the full animation this time, letting the suspense build. And….a diamond! I almost jumped from my seat. Then I saw it was a 86 overall. I almost threw my controller.
The Aftermath: So, yeah, my All-Star Game pack opening wasn’t exactly a home run. No 99 overall legends, no game-changing superstars. Just a bunch of decent, but ultimately forgettable, cards. That happens, though, right?

What I Learned: Honestly, it’s a gamble. You can grind for hours, save up a ton of stubs, and still end up with nothing. That’s just the nature of the game. Next time, I am not wasting my time.
