Okay, let’s talk about this Diana Benedict thing I did today.
I woke up this morning with a massive craving for Eggs Benedict. I mean, who doesn’t love that creamy, dreamy Hollandaise sauce? But I decided, what the heck, I’m going to try to make it myself.
So, I started to gather ingredients.
- First, I grabbed some eggs, some bacon, and some butter. Those are the stars of the show, right? I know the bacon is like, full of fat, but I figured, treat yo’ self, it’s a weekend.
- Then, because I am not a professional chef, I quickly googled a recipe for Hollandaise sauce. Turns out it’s like, a big deal to get it just right. You need to slowly stream in hot melted butter into egg yolks, I checked the video.
I started cooking the bacon and tried the Hollandaise. It was a bit of a mess, to be honest. My sauce was being a pain in the butt and not thickening up. It was probably because I didn’t get the butter hot enough. So, I popped it in the microwave, just like the recipe suggested. I whisked it every five seconds, and you know what? It actually worked!
I toasted some English muffins, poached the eggs, and I assembled the whole thing. It was amazing, I can tell you. And the Hollandaise was warm and yummy.
