Alright, so I got curious about Denny McCarthy’s gear the other day. You know, the guy’s an absolute wizard on the greens, makes everything look easy. So I figured, gotta see what magic wand he’s using, right? And maybe what else is helping him get to those greens.

Starting the Dig
First thing I did was just hop online. Typed in the usual stuff, “Denny McCarthy WITB,” “Denny McCarthy clubs,” that sort of thing. You get a bunch of results pretty quick, mostly from the big golf websites and gear forums. Took a few minutes to click around, see what looked most current. Sometimes these guys switch stuff up week to week, you know?
What I Found in the Bag
Okay, no big surprise, the first thing everyone talks about is his putter. And yeah, it’s that Scotty Cameron mallet. Looked like a GoLo N7 tour prototype, or something real close to it. Makes sense. When you putt like him, you find something you love and you stick with it. That thing must feel like an extension of his arm.
Then I looked at the top end of the bag:
- Driver: Seemed like he was using a Titleist driver, probably one of the newer TSR models. Pretty standard stuff for tour pros, Titleist drivers are everywhere.
- Fairway Woods: Again, looked like Titleist, maybe a TSR2 or TSR3 fairway wood. Consistency seems key for him.
Moving down to the irons and wedges:
- Irons: Spotted Titleist T100 irons in there for the most part. Real player’s looking irons, clean. Shows he’s confident with his ball striking. Maybe a utility iron for the longer end, saw mentions of a T200 sometimes.
- Wedges: No shocker here – Vokey Design wedges. SM9s or maybe even the newer SM10s. Looked like the standard 3 or 4 wedge setup, covering those scoring yardages.
And yeah, the ball was a Titleist Pro V1x. Again, super common out there.

Putting it Together
So, after digging through this stuff, what’s the takeaway? Well, it kinda confirms what you’d expect. He’s heavily into Titleist gear, which isn’t unusual. Lots of pros have deals or just trust one brand for most of their bag. It looks like a solid, reliable setup. Nothing too wild or experimental jumping out at me.
The main thing is that putter, though. It really hammered home for me how crucial finding the right putter is, especially for guys who make their money on the greens. He found his magic stick and built the rest of the bag around getting the ball to the green so he can work his magic. Makes me look at my own bag and wonder if I should stop messing around so much and just commit to something… nah, probably not.
Anyway, that was my little dive into Denny McCarthy’s setup. Pretty straightforward process, just took a bit of clicking around. Always interesting to see what tools the best players are using.
