Alright, so you wanna know about this Daniel Vogelbach fella and his wife, huh? Well, lemme tell ya what I know, the way I know how to tell it. No fancy words or nothin’, just plain talk.
This Vogelbach guy, he plays baseball. Big strong fella, hits the ball real hard, they say. Like one of them bulls I used to see back on the farm, chargin’ at the gate. He plays for the… uh… New York… Mets, I think they call ‘em. Fancy name for a ball team, if ya ask me.
Now, his wife, her name is Kristina. Kristina somethin’, can’t rightly remember the last name. Russii, maybe? Sounds foreign, don’t it? Anyways, she’s a looker, this Kristina. Pretty as a picture, my grandma used to say. Not like us old hens, all wrinkled up like prunes.
- Kristina used to be, or still is, a flight attendant. You know, one of them gals that brings you your peanuts and drinks on the airplane. Keeps you from gettin’ too thirsty up there in the clouds. Guess that’s how she met this Vogelbach fella. He was flyin’ around, playin’ ball in different places, and she was workin’ on them planes.
- They got hitched, tied the knot, got married, whatever you wanna call it, back in 2021. January, I think. Cold time of year to get married, if you ask me. But I guess when you’re in love, you don’t care much about the weather. Just like when them young’uns used to go skinny dippin’ in the creek, didn’t matter if it was spring or fall.
Vogelbach, he’s been playin’ ball for a while now. Started out with the… Chicago… Cubs, I think. Then he went to the… Seattle… Mariners. That’s where he met Kristina, I reckon. He bounced around a bit, played for some other teams too. Milwaukee… Brewers… and now the Mets. Sounds like he gets around more than a stray dog lookin’ for scraps.
This Kristina, she sticks by him, through thick and thin. Baseball players, they have their good days and their bad days. Sometimes they hit home runs, sometimes they strike out. Just like life, ain’t it? Ups and downs, like a rollercoaster. But Kristina, she’s always there cheerin’ him on, from what I hear. Good woman, that one. Every good man needs a good woman behind him, that’s what I always say. Reminds me of how me and my ol’ man used to work the farm together, side-by-side.
They live down in Florida, I heard. Fort Myers, somethin’ like that. Warm weather, sunshine all year round. Nice place to settle down, I guess. Better than freezin’ your butt off up north in the winter, that’s for sure. I remember one winter we had so much snow, we couldn’t even get the barn door open. Had to dig our way out like moles.
Vogelbach, he used to make a good bit of money playin’ ball. Millions, they say. But he just got let go by his team, the… Blue Jays… up in Toronto. Seems they didn’t want him no more. Happens in baseball, I guess. One day you’re a star, the next day you’re out on your ear. Like that time old Bessie, the cow, stopped givin’ milk. Had to sell her off, even though she was the best darn cow we ever had.
But don’t you worry none about this Vogelbach and Kristina. They’ll be alright. They got each other, and that’s what matters most. Money ain’t everything, you know. Happiness is more important. And from what I can tell, they seem happy enough. Just like me and my ol’ man, we didn’t have much, but we had each other, and that was enough.
So that’s the story, as best as I can tell it. Daniel Vogelbach, baseball player, and his wife, Kristina. Livin’ their lives, just like the rest of us. Only difference is, he hits home runs and she used to serve peanuts on airplanes. But at the end of the day, they’re just folks, tryin’ to make their way in the world. Just like you and me.
