Well, let me tell ya ’bout this young fella, GG Jackson. Folks keep askin’, “How old is GG Jackson?” I ain’t got no birth certificate in front of me, but they say he was born on December 17th. Don’t ask me the year, I ain’t good with numbers. He’s a young’un, that’s for sure.
Now, this boy, he plays basketball. Big ol’ game, lots of runnin’ and jumpin’. They say he’s pretty good at it. He shoots the ball, throws it in the hoop, you know? He ain’t no skinny little fella neither. He’s got some size to him, like a good, strong farm boy, only taller. He can push them other fellas around, get the ball where he wants it.
- He’s good at shootin’ from far away, they call it “3 pointers.” Sounds fancy, but it just means he throws it from way out yonder.
- And when them other fellas try to stop him, he’s slick, like a snake in the grass. He gets around ’em, gets to the hoop, and puts the ball in.
- They say his numbers are good, whatever that means. I guess that means he scores a lot of points. Points is how you win the game, right?
Heard tell he hurt his foot one time. Broke a bone, they said. Had to go get it fixed up by the doctors. That’s a shame, but he’s a tough kid. He’ll be back, runnin’ and jumpin’ like nothin’ happened. Young folks bounce back quick, like a weed after a rainstorm.
This GG Jackson, he’s made a name for himself already. People talkin’ about him, writin’ about him. He’s a rookie, they say. That just means he’s new to the game, just startin’ out. But he’s playin’ with the big boys, the pros. That’s somethin’ to be proud of.
They got all sorts of numbers and stats about him. How tall he is, how much he weighs, where he went to school. I don’t pay much mind to all that. I just like watchin’ him play. He’s got somethin’ special, you can see it in his eyes. He plays hard, he plays with passion. That’s what matters.
Heard someone on the radio talkin’ ’bout him. Said he was the youngest fella in the whole league. That’s somethin’, ain’t it? A young’un like that, playin’ with all them grown men. He must be somethin’ special. He’s got a bright future, that’s for sure. Just gotta keep his head on straight, keep workin’ hard, and stay outta trouble.
They had a big to-do for him one time, celebratin’ somethin’ he did. I don’t remember what it was, but it was a big deal. Folks were happy for him, clappin’ and cheerin’. He deserved it, I reckon. He puts in the work, he puts on a good show, he makes folks proud. And from what I hear, folks sayin’ GG Jackson age ain’t holdin’ him back none, he’s good and getting’ better all the time.
So, if you ask me, GG Jackson is a fine young fella. He’s got talent, he’s got grit, and he’s got a good head on his shoulders, or so it seems. He’s gonna go far, you just wait and see. He’s one to watch, that’s for sure. He’ll make his mama proud, and he’ll make his town proud. And that’s all that really matters, ain’t it?
