Man, today I want to talk about what I did for Crown Jewel 2024. What a day, let me tell you!
So, first thing’s first, I saw online that this thing, Crown Jewel 2024, was happening on Saturday. I was like, “Okay, cool, what’s that?” Turns out, it’s a big wrestling event by WWE. I’ve always been a casual fan, so I figured, why not make a day of it?
I started digging around to find out more. I saw some stuff about it being in Riyadh, which is in Saudi Arabia. Fancy, right? And instead of the usual championship matches, they were doing something a bit different.
Getting Ready
I marked it on my calendar. October 26th, 2024 – that was the day. I cleared up my schedule because I wanted to watch it live. No spoilers for me, thanks! I saw that the event was going to be held at some big stadium, the King Fahd International Stadium. It sounded huge!
The Big Day
Saturday rolled around, and I was pumped. I set up my spot on the couch, got some snacks ready, you know, the whole deal. I was mostly excited about this match between Cody Rhodes and Gunther, it sounded like a big deal. And there was something about Nia Jax and Liv Morgan, which also seemed cool.
I tuned in right as it started. The first match had some folks named Roman Reigns and Jey Uso. From what I read, they gave it about 30 minutes. It was a good warm-up, got me even more hyped for the main event. I watched the whole thing, match after match. I didn’t know who all these people were, but it was still entertaining to watch.
The Main Event
Then came the match I was waiting for – Cody Rhodes versus Gunther. Let me tell you, it didn’t disappoint. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. They went at it for, like, 23 minutes. At one point, Rhodes went for this move from the top rope, but Gunther caught him in a sleeper hold. I thought it was over!
But then, Rhodes somehow rolled over and pinned Gunther. The ref counted to three, and bam! Rhodes won! I couldn’t believe it. They called him the first men’s Crown Jewel Champion. That’s gotta be a big deal, right? After the match, Gunther even shook hands with Rhodes. That was a nice touch, showing respect and all.
Wrapping Up
The whole event was a blast. I saw some other matches too, and they all had their moments. But that Rhodes and Gunther match, that was the highlight for me. I read somewhere that it was a surprising outcome, and yeah, I’d agree. It was a good surprise, though. I remember seeing some post online saying it started with Roman Reigns getting pinned by someone named Solo Sikoa, which was another shocker.
I stayed up a bit after it ended, just reading about people’s reactions online. Everyone was talking about it. It was a good day, I had a lot of fun. I even thought about how cool it would be to go to one of these events in person someday. Riyadh seems far, but hey, never say never, right?
Anyways, that was my Crown Jewel 2024 experience. It was a fun ride, and I’m glad I decided to tune in. Now I’m thinking, what’s the next big wrestling event? I might have to keep an eye out for these things more often. It’s a nice break from the usual routine, you know? Plus, watching someone like Cody Rhodes pull off a win like that, it’s pretty inspiring. Makes you think anything’s possible, even in a wrestling ring!
