Okay, so, about that crew portal thing. I had to mess with it the other day, and let me tell you, it was a bit of a journey. First off, I needed to get into this system, right? So, I went to the website. I typed in the address, and bam, I’m on the login page.
It asked for my username and password. Luckily, I remembered mine, but there was also this “Forgot Your Password?” thingy just in case. I saw an announcement after logging in. I typed my stuff in, hit “Log in,” and boom, I was in. Once I was inside, I noticed all these sections. There was one for my profile, one for my schedule, and a bunch of other stuff.
I needed to tweak my settings a bit, so I clicked around and found this “My Settings” area. Under that, there was something called “Roster Time Mode.” It was set to “Local” by default, but I wanted to change it to “Base.” So, I hit “Edit,” picked “Base” from the options, and clicked “OK.” Easy peasy. Or maybe it’s different for each device, I am not sure about that. The version showing on my screen was 2024.10.14.1, maybe the latest.
- First: Find the website and go to the login page.
- Second: Log in with your username and password, using the “Forgot Your Password?” option if you have to.
- Third: Navigate to “My Settings” and then “Roster Time Mode.”
- Fourth: Edit the setting to your preference, either “Local” or “Base,” and save it.
Simple Steps
The site mentions that it’s best to use browsers like Edge or Chrome. It’s a good idea to follow that advice. I was using Chrome, and it worked just fine. But when I tried with an older browser, it was all wonky. I’ve heard some folks talking about some mobile app called “Crew Area” for some crew members. I haven’t tried that one yet, but it sounds like it might be useful for people who are always on the go. I read some instructions about it. Seemed like a legit app, designed for crew members of Costa, and Aida, wherever these are.
Oh, and I also saw something about this being a “Self Service Portal.” That’s pretty cool because it means you can do most things yourself without having to call someone for help. It had announcements and stuff, so it looks like they keep it updated. I also bumped into a login page for some “*” crew, which was probably for managing bookings and all that travel stuff.
Anyway, that’s pretty much my experience with the crew portal. It wasn’t too bad once I figured out where everything was. Hope this helps anyone who’s scratching their head about it. You know how these things are. Everyone will have a different experience. So just keep poking around, and you’ll figure it out. Or ask a coworker, I guess. That’s what I usually do if I get stuck.
