Okay, so I saw Liv Morgan’s new haircut and I just had to try it myself. I mean, she’s gorgeous and the cut looked so edgy and cool, I figured, why not? Let’s do this!
Gathering My Tools (And Courage!)
First things first, I needed to see exactly what I was working with. So, I scoured the internet for every picture of Liv with this haircut that I could find. Front, back, sides – I needed all the angles! I saved a bunch of them to my phone for easy reference.
Then, I gathered my supplies. I already had some decent haircutting scissors (thank goodness, because dull scissors are a disaster). Also, grabbed my comb, a spray bottle filled with water, and a couple of hair clips. I even dug out an old towel to put around my shoulders – didn’t want hair all over my clothes!
The Big Chop
Alright, deep breaths. Time to actually start cutting. I sectioned my hair, starting with the top part, just like I saw in the pictures of Liv. This part seemed to be the key to getting that layered, textured look.
I dampened my hair with the spray bottle – cutting wet hair is way easier, at least for me. Then, using the pictures as my guide, I started trimming. Little by little, I worked my way around, checking the length constantly in the mirror. It’s kinda nerve-wracking, not gonna lie! You don’t want to cut too much off at once.
- Started with the back, trying to get that slightly shorter, choppy look.
- Then moved to the sides, focusing on creating those face-framing layers.
- Finally, tackled the top, making sure it blended with the rest.
Styling and Finishing Touches
After what felt like forever (probably just an hour, but it felt intense!), I was finally done with the cutting. I blow-dried my hair, using my fingers to kind of tousle it and give it some volume. Liv’s hair has this great texture, so I wanted to mimic that as much as possible.
I added a little bit of texturizing spray – just a spritz, you don’t want to go overboard. This helped to define the layers and give it that slightly messy, “I woke up like this” vibe. Finally, I took a good, long look in the mirror.
It is looking good.
It’s not exactly like Liv Morgan’s, of course. Everyone’s hair is different, and I’m certainly no professional hairstylist! But, I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. It’s definitely a fun, edgy change, and I feel like I captured the spirit of her look. And honestly, the best part is that I did it myself!
