Okay, so I’ve been trying to get a handle on this whole “college baseball transfer portal” thing. It’s like a wild west out there, with players jumping ship left and right. I wanted to create my own list, mostly to keep track of players I’m interested in, and maybe help some other folks out.
Digging for Players Information
First, I started by just hitting up the usual spots – you know, the big sports websites. I figured they’d have some articles, maybe some lists, but it was mostly just scattered news reports about specific players transferring. Nothing comprehensive.
Then, I spent some time poking around on Twitter (X, whatever). Lots of chatter, rumors, and “insider” info, but sifting through all that noise was a pain. I did find some useful tidbits, like names of players I hadn’t heard of before.
Making My Own Spreadsheet
I realized pretty quickly that I needed to get organized. So, I fired up a good old spreadsheet. I started making columns for the basics:
- Player Name
- Position
- Old School
- New School (if known)
- Notes (like any stats I could find, rumors, etc.)
Filling the Gaps, One by One
Then came the real work – filling in the blanks. I went back to those articles and Twitter posts, and started plugging in names. I also checked out some of the smaller college baseball websites and forums. Those were actually pretty helpful for finding lesser-known players.
It was slow going, for sure. Lots of dead ends, conflicting information, and just plain guessing. I spent a good chunk of time just verifying info, trying to make sure I wasn’t spreading rumors or anything.

It’s a Work in Progress!
Honestly, my list is still far from perfect. It’s definitely a work in progress. I’m constantly adding new names, updating info, and trying to make it more complete. But it’s a start, and it’s already helped me keep track of this crazy transfer season.
It’s tough to keep up, but I tried my best. I am going to keep updating it.
