- Wide Receiver (WR): These are the guys catchin’ the ball. They gotta be fast and have good hands. If they drop the ball, the whole crowd goes, “Awwww!”
- Tight End (TE): Kinda like a receiver, but bigger. They can block and catch, these fellas. Versatile, you know.
- Offensive Line (OL): Now these are the big boys! They protect the quarterback and make holes for the running backs. They don’t get much glory, but they’re important. Gotta be strong as an ox to do that job.
- Center (C): The middle guy on the line. Snaps the ball to the quarterback.
- Guard (G): Two of these guys, standin’ next to the center. Big and tough.
- Tackle (T): On the ends of the line. Protect the quarterback’s blind side. Important job.
The Defense, Gotta Stop Them From Scoring
Then you got the defense. Their job is to stop the other team from scorin’. They gotta be tough and mean, but fair, you know. Don’t want no cheatin’.
- Defensive Line (DL): These are the guys tryin’ to get to the quarterback. They gotta be fast and strong.
- Defensive End (DE): On the ends of the line. Try to get around the tackles.
- Defensive Tackle (DT): In the middle of the line. Big and strong. Try to push through the center and guards.
- Linebacker (LB): These guys are kinda like the quarterbacks of the defense. They gotta be smart and fast. They gotta read what the offense is doin’ and react quick.
- Defensive Back (DB): These are the guys coverin’ the wide receivers. They gotta be fast and have good hands. They also gotta be able to tackle.
- Cornerback (CB): Cover the wide receivers one-on-one. Tough job.
- Safety (S): Last line of defense. Gotta be able to tackle and cover a lot of ground.
Special Teams, The Kickers and Punters
And then you got the special teams. These are the guys who kick the ball. You got your kicker, he kicks the field goals and extra points. And you got your punter, he kicks the ball when the offense can’t get a first down. Important jobs, but they don’t get much attention unless they mess up.
- Kicker (K): Kicks the ball for field goals and extra points.
- Punter (P): Kicks the ball when the offense can’t get a first down.
- Return Specialist (RS): Catches punts and kickoffs and tries to run them back.

Now, this Charlotte team, they got a bunch of young fellas tryin’ to make a name for themselves. I heard they got some good players, but I ain’t seen ‘em play myself.
