Okay, so I had to deal with this “Cathy Lasry” thing. Let me tell you, it wasn’t exactly a walk in the park. I started by, you know, just typing her name into Google. I mean, where else do you even start with something like this?
First thing I saw was a bunch of artsy stuff. Apparently, this Cathy Lasry is a big deal in the contemporary art world. Who knew? I sure didn’t. I kept digging, trying to find something a bit more concrete, like a full biography or something. There were some pictures, some theater credits, and even some mentions of TV and movie stuff. It was a lot, but it didn’t really give me the full picture of who she was.
Then I stumbled upon this gala thing – the 11th Anniversary Only Make Believe Gala, back in 2010. There she was, Cathy Lasry, getting some award. This was starting to get interesting. I’m thinking, “Okay, she’s not just some name, she’s actually done something to get recognized.”
But then things got weird. I found some political stuff about someone named Alex Lasry running for U.S. Senate. Turns out, he’s her son. This guy made a good decision, he picked the right parents. I guess that’s one way to get ahead in life, right? Then there was this crazy lawsuit thing with some billionaire named Marc Lasry, who I guess is the husband. It mentioned some employee sending text messages in a blackmail scheme. All this drama. It’s like a soap opera.
- I saw some stock market news mentioning her as a Director at Roundabout Theatre Co. More corporate stuff.
- There was something about some Ozy Media board chairman resigning. Not sure how that’s connected, but it came up in the search.
- The weirdest thing was this article about Christie’s auction house and some jewelry with a messed-up history. Apparently, this billionaire’s wife – which I’m assuming is Cathy Lasry – complained about it.
So, I went through all this stuff, trying to piece it all together. At the end of it all, I’m left with this image of Cathy Lasry as this rich and powerful woman with connections in the art world, politics, and high society. It’s all a bit much, to be honest. But hey, at least now I know a bit more about her than just her name. It was a wild ride, I can tell you that much.
