Okay, so, I gotta tell you about this crazy thing I did. It was called the “Cardigan Classic” golf tournament. Now, I’m not exactly a pro golfer, but I do enjoy hitting the links every now and then. When I heard about this event, I thought, “Why not?” Plus it was happening at Lake Tahoe, a place I have always wanted to go to, and it’s absolutely beautiful there.
I packed my bags, grabbed my clubs, and headed out. The first thing I did when I arrived was check out the course. It was the Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course, and let me tell you, it was stunning. Right on the lake, with these gorgeous mountain views. I knew right then that this was gonna be a fun time, no matter how badly I played.
The tournament itself was a blast. It was me against a good friend of mine, and we had a four-hole match. We teed off, and right from the start, the trash talk was flying. We were both pretty terrible, to be honest, but that just made it more hilarious. We hacked our way through the course, laughing the whole time.
There were some folks watching, and I heard later that they were filming the whole thing. No idea why, though! But I did hear that it was going to be on TV. NBC, I think they said. And something about it being available on Peacock the next day. Oh, and some channel called the Golf Channel was going to show it on September 16th. Crazy, right?
The whole thing was presented by Ford. Not sure what that means, but I guess they sponsored it or something. Anyway, by the end of the four holes, we were both exhausted. It was way more intense than I expected! But it was also one of the most fun rounds of golf I’ve ever played. And just to make sure we remember this, we did it all while wearing cardigans. What’s not to love.
Here’s the real kicker: I actually did alright! It was a close match, and I definitely surprised myself a few times with some decent shots. It’s funny, I went in just expecting a good time, and I ended up actually competing. It was a total blast, and I’d do it again in a heartbeat.
- Went to Lake Tahoe for a golf thing.
- Played at a super nice course called Edgewood.
- Played against my friend across four holes.
- It was filmed for TV, for some reason, and shown on NBC and this Peacock thing, also on Golf Channel later.
- Ford sponsored it, apparently.
- It was intense, hilarious, and awesome.
- I didn’t completely suck!
So yeah, that was my Cardigan Classic adventure. It was a wild ride, and I loved every minute of it. Maybe I’ll even start practicing more now. You never know, maybe they will invite me back for a rematch!
