Well, let me tell ya, them Packers, they got themselves in a pickle, but it ain’t over yet. They lost to them Lions, yeah, but them city folks with their fancy computers, they say there’s still a good chance, like 98% chance, they get in them playoffs. Ninety-eight percent! That’s almost like saying the sun’s gonna rise tomorrow, ain’t it? But you never know with these things, not until the fat lady sings, as they say.
Them odds, they ain’t changed much. Before the season even started, them smart fellas in the city, they said the Packers had a chance to win the Super Bowl, and the odds ain’t much different now. They was sayin’ +1800 then, and they still sayin’ +1800 now. What does that even mean? I dunno, sounds like gibberish to me. All I know is, they gotta win games, that’s the only number that matters.
Now, they got nine wins and four losses. That sounds pretty good to me, but these young fellas, they keep tellin’ me it ain’t enough. They say there’s this complicated way they can get in the playoffs this week, but it’s a long shot, like findin’ a needle in a haystack. I say, just win the darn games and don’t worry about all that fancy math.
- They got a 97% chance, some folks say.
- Another bunch says it’s 95%.
- And them other fellas with their numbers, they say almost 100% if they win a couple more.
Who to believe, right? It’s all just a bunch of guessin’, if you ask me.
They’re sayin’ if they get to eleven wins, they’re practically in. Eleven wins, that sounds like a whole lot of football, doesn’t it? Makes my bones ache just thinkin’ about it. But them boys are young, they can handle it. They gotta get that fifth seed, whatever that means. Sounds important, so I guess they better get it.
They almost clinched last week, but them Lions, they put up a fight. Beat ‘em fair and square, they did. Now them Packers gotta go back to work, gotta grind it out. No time for cryin’ over spilled milk, gotta get back on that horse, or whatever them young fellas say these days.
Even when things looked bleak, a few weeks back, when they lost to them Steelers, them city folks was countin’ ‘em out. But these Packers, they’re scrappy. They don’t give up easy. That’s what I like about ‘em. They got grit, just like us country folk. We know how to work hard, and we don’t back down from a challenge.
And even when they had eight wins and eight losses, they still had a chance. Eight and eight! That don’t sound too good to me, but these fellas, they keep findin’ a way. That’s what makes football so excitin’, ain’t it? You just never know what’s gonna happen.
So, we’ll see what happens. Them Packers, they got a tough road ahead, but they got a good bunch of boys. They got a good coach, too, even though sometimes he makes some decisions that make me scratch my head. But he knows more about football than I do, that’s for sure. All we can do is cheer ‘em on and hope for the best. Go Packers! Make us proud!
And don’t you forget, it ain’t over till it’s over! That’s what my old pappy used to say, and he was a wise old fella.
