Okay, so I’ve been messing around with trying to predict football match outcomes, specifically for Cadiz. It’s not exactly rocket science, but it’s been a fun little project. Here’s how I’ve been going about it.

Starting Simple
First, I just looked at recent results. Like, super basic stuff. Win, lose, or draw? I jotted them down in a notebook, just to get a feel for how Cadiz has been performing. No fancy stats, just plain old results.
- Cadiz vs. Almeria – Draw
- Cadiz vs. Valencia – Win
- Cadiz vs. Real Betis – Loss
- And so on…
Getting a Bit More Involved
Then, I started to consider the opponents. Were they top-of-the-table teams, or struggling near the bottom? It made a difference, obviously. A loss against Barcelona isn’t the same as a loss against a team fighting relegation.
I used different colors pen to write every team.
Home and Away
Next, I factored in whether Cadiz was playing at home or away. Home advantage is a real thing, right? So, I made separate lists for home and away matches, and compared the results. You know when playing home, Cadiz showed more passion.
Trying to See Patterns
After a while, I started looking for any kind of patterns. Did they usually win after a loss? Did they struggle against teams with a specific playing style? I even doodled little charts, just to see if anything jumped out at me. Just draw some arrows and circle.

It’s All Guesswork (But Fun Guesswork!)
Of course, I know this isn’t a foolproof system. It’s all just informed guesswork, really. There are so many variables in football that you can’t predict. But, it’s been a fun way to engage with the matches a bit more deeply. And hey, maybe I’ll get lucky with a prediction or two!
I even try to predict score, although it is more difficult.
