Well now, if ya ask me ’bout this Brandon Aiyuk fella and his matchups with them Seahawks, it’s been a bit of a rollercoaster. I’ll tell ya, he’s been out there in 7 games ‘gainst them Seahawks and caught 27 passes, racking up a total of 419 yards, and I reckon he’s scored 2 touchdowns in all that time. Not bad for someone out there doin’ their thing, right? And ya know, I gotta say, Aiyuk’s been the first 49ers wide receiver to do somethin’ like that since Anquan Boldin did back in 2013. Boldin, he had over 1,100 yards that season, and he really set a high bar.
Now, Aiyuk’s been pretty good at takin’ on them Seahawks, and his numbers ain’t too shabby. He’s played in 8 games against Seattle and caught 29 passes for 456 yards, and yeah, 2 touchdowns in that time too. Looks like he’s got a knack for makin’ big plays when it counts, even though the Seahawks don’t go down easy, that’s for sure.
It ain’t always been easy for Aiyuk, though. I remember there was that one time where Purdy, the quarterback, threw him the ball with four Seahawks defenders all over him, and yet Aiyuk still came down with it. Now that takes guts, don’t it? The 49ers, they was up there at Lumen Field for a Thursday Night Football game, playin’ them Seahawks again, and even with all the pressure, they came out on top with a 36-24 victory. That’s a win in the division right there.
But of course, things ain’t always goin’ smooth. Aiyuk’s had his share of injuries, too. Last I heard, he tore both his ACL and MCL. That’s tough for any player, and let me tell ya, them knee injuries can really take a toll. The 49ers went ahead and put him on the injured reserve list, meaning he’s done for the season. They’re probably gonna take their sweet time to get him back healthy, especially with all the depth they got at wide receiver this year.
And ya know, Aiyuk and the 49ers done made a big move this year. They agreed to a nice big four-year contract worth $120 million, with $76 million of that all guaranteed. Now, that’s some serious money right there. I reckon that shows they got a lotta faith in him to keep makin’ them plays, even after all the struggles.
All in all, I’d say Aiyuk’s had a pretty good run so far with them Seahawks, even if they ain’t always been easy wins. He’s been a real player, showin’ up in the big moments, and it looks like he’s gonna be around for a while. Whether he’s playin’ with Purdy or whoever, I think they got somethin’ good cookin’ over there with Aiyuk leadin’ the charge.
