Okay, so I was playing Stardew Valley the other day, and I ran out of Refined Quartz. Again! It’s like, I always need it for crafting, especially those Quality Sprinklers. So, I decided to really figure out the best ways to get it, once and for all. No more running around like a headless chicken!

My Refined Quartz Hunt
First, I tried just chucking regular Quartz into the Furnace. I mean, that’s the obvious way, right? It works! It takes 1 Quartz and 1 Coal to make 1 Refined Quartz. The problem? It felt so slow. And I needed, like, a ton of the stuff.
So I dug into my memory (and the Stardew Valley Wiki, let’s be honest). I remembered that Recycling Machines are a thing! I’d mostly been using them for Broken CDs and Soggy Newspaper, you know, the usual trash.
- Broken CD: Pop it in the Recycling Machine, and boom – Refined Quartz!
- Soggy Newspaper: This usually gives you Torches, but sometimes, just sometimes, you get lucky and get Refined Quartz.
This was a game-changer! I started hoarding every Broken CD I could find. Fishing became my new favorite pastime, not for the fish, but for the trash. My friends were probably wondering why I was so excited about garbage, but hey, it works!
Then, I also remembered something about Fire Quartz. If you want to go full on mining mode.
- Fire Quartz: Throw a single fire quartz, and boom – three Refined Quartz!
I found that this was amazing when I went on mining trips trying to get to those lower levels.

So, there you have it! My Refined Quartz journey. Now I have a steady supply, and my farm is looking better than ever. Those Quality Sprinklers are finally doing their thing! I’m finally not as stressed now that I have way more Refined Quartz then I know what to do with.
