Okay, so I’ve been meaning to upgrade my golf glove for a while now. My old one was, well, let’s just say it had seen better days. Holes, worn-out grip, the whole nine yards. I finally decided to bite the bullet and get a new one, and I figured I’d try out a cabretta leather glove, since I’ve heard good things.

First, I looked around a bit online, just to get an idea of prices and brands. You know, window shopping, but on the internet. There are so many options, it’s kind of overwhelming! But I had my eye on a few.
The Hunt Begins
Then, I headed to my local golf store. Gotta support the local guys, right? Plus, I wanted to actually feel the gloves, see how they fit. That’s something you just can’t do online.
I tried on a bunch of different cabretta gloves. Some were super soft, some felt a little stiff. Some had extra padding in weird places. It was a whole process, I tell ya.
- One felt like butter, but the fit was off.
- Another one had a great grip, but it pinched my pinky.
- A few others, well let say that I rejected them.
Finally, I found one that felt just right. It was soft, the fit was perfect, and it had a nice, tacky grip. Score!
Putting It to the Test
Of course, the real test is on the course. So, the next day, I took my new glove out for a spin. And let me tell you, it made a difference! My grip felt way more secure, and I felt like I had more control over my shots.

I even noticed I wasn’t gripping the club as tightly, which is something I tend to do when my glove is worn out. Less tension in my hands, more power in my swing. Who knew a glove could do that?
So, yeah, I’m officially a cabretta leather glove convert. It’s a small upgrade, but it’s made a big difference in my game. If your glove is looking sad, I definitely recommend giving one a try. You might be surprised!
