Okay, so let’s talk about that Bills vs. Commanders game and the weather situation.
I gotta tell you, I was pumped for this game. I’m a huge Bills fan, and I had been looking forward to this matchup for weeks. I checked the weather forecast, you know, just to see what we were in for. Initially, it looked like it was gonna be a decent day, maybe a bit cloudy, but nothing too crazy.
So, game day rolls around, and I head out to the stadium. As I was driving, I started noticing the clouds getting a bit darker, a bit more ominous. I thought, “Okay, maybe it’ll just be a little drizzle, no big deal.”
I got to my seat, and the game kicked off. Everything was going great. The Bills were playing well, the crowd was into it, and then, it started to rain. Not just a light rain, mind you, but a proper downpour.
- First, It is just a little rain.
- Then, It became a downpour.
- Finally, I have to leave early.
Now, I’ve been to games in the rain before, so I had my trusty poncho with me. I threw that on and tried to stick it out, but the rain just kept coming down harder and harder. It was like the heavens had opened up or something. People were scrambling for cover, ponchos were flying everywhere, and the field started to get really soaked.
I tried to tough it out, believe me, I did. But after a while, I was just drenched, freezing, and miserable. It’s hard to enjoy a game when you can barely see through the rain, and you’re shivering like crazy. And you know I was worried that I’d catch a cold.
My Feeling
So, I made the tough call to leave early. I know, I know, it’s not ideal, but I just couldn’t take it anymore. I felt bad for the players out there, slogging through that mess, but there was no way I was staying any longer.
I fought my way through the crowd, got soaked some more on the way back to my car, and finally made it home. I took a hot shower, changed into some dry clothes, and tried to warm up. It took a while, but eventually, I stopped shaking, and my fever just got worse.
Looking back, I probably should’ve just stayed home and watched the game on TV. It would’ve been a lot more comfortable, that’s for sure. But hey, you live and you learn, right? Next time, I’ll be checking that forecast a little more carefully, and maybe bringing an extra-large umbrella, just in case.
