Okay, so I was checking out some baseball stuff online, specifically about Triston Casas. You know, the first baseman for the Boston Red Sox. Turns out, he’s been dealing with some rib trouble and I got curious about it.
I started digging around, and it looks like this whole thing kicked off back on April 20th. That’s when he first got sidelined. The team was playing in Pittsburgh, and they got worried because this guy is a slugger. Naturally, they were hoping he’d be back in the lineup pronto.
So, I kept reading. They sent him back to Boston for a check-up on that Monday after the game. He got an MRI, and the news wasn’t great. He’s got a left rib fracture. A rib fracture! It’s not like a paper cut. He definitely needs more than just a plaster.
Then, I found out he was doing some training with the WooSox, trying to get back in shape. I guess he had eight plate appearances with them, so he was trying to ease back into things. But then, bam, this rib thing.
- First, they found out he was injured and he exited the game on April 20th.
- Then, they sent him back to Boston to get it checked out.
- He got an MRI, and they confirmed it was a rib fracture.
- They also found out he’d been training with the WooSox to ease back in.
Here’s the deal
This injury is going to keep him out for a “significant amount of time”. That’s what the reports are saying. We’re not talking about a minor setback here. It’s a real bummer for the Red Sox, and for Casas, too. The dude was probably raring to get back on the field, and now this. I feel for him, man. I guess he can’t get back in as soon as possible.
Anyway, that’s the gist of what I found. It’s a tough break for Casas, and we’ll have to wait and see when he’ll be back playing. He will definitely miss lots of games and practice. Hopefully, he heals up quickly and gets back to hitting those home runs.
