Okay, so I’ve been diving into the Oklahoma Sooners football depth chart for 2023, and let me tell you, it’s been a journey. Started off just wanting to see who’s playing where, you know, get a feel for the team this year.

First, I tried to find the official depth chart. The team usually puts it out, right? I looked around a bit and found it released just this Tuesday. Perfect timing!
Then, I started digging into each position. The first thing I noticed is that there are some “ORs” listed, meaning they haven’t fully decided who’s starting in those spots yet. The coaches are still figuring out who’s gonna be the main guy. And also, a bunch of new players are listed, so there’s a mix of old and new.
I spent a good chunk of time looking at the secondary. Seems like they’ve made some changes there, brought in some new guys. I was particularly interested in the new starting positions. It looked like the secondary team is going to be more impressive.
After that, I noticed there’s been an update to the depth chart. They made a change for the Week 3 game against Tulane. So, I had to go back and check that out. It’s always something, isn’t it? They’re always tweaking things.
I also noticed who is gonna be playing against Arkansas State in Week 1. There are some differences between the Week 1 and Week 3 depth charts. It will be interesting to see the differences between these two games.

Finally, after looking at all the positions, I started to piece together a picture of the team. It’s definitely a different squad than last year. Lots of moving parts, lots of decisions still being made. It’s like putting together a puzzle, except the pieces keep changing.
So yeah, that’s basically what I did. I checked out the depth chart, compared it to last year, noticed the changes, saw the updates, and tried to make sense of it all. It’s gonna be interesting to see how these guys do on the field.

And that’s that. I will probably check it again in a few weeks to see if anything’s changed. It’s a never-ending process, really.
