Hey guys, I’m back with another one of my little projects. This time it’s about the Cincinnati Reds vs. New York Yankees game. I wanted to dig into the player stats from that match and ended up getting a little carried away, as usual. So, here’s how it all went down.
First off, I started looking around for when these two teams were even facing each other. Turns out, they had a game on July 13, and another one coming up on July 4, and even one more on May 21. I was like, “Alright, plenty of data to work with here.”
Next, I needed to figure out where to find the actual stats. I hit up a bunch of sports sites and found a few that seemed pretty solid. CBS Sports had something on a game from July 2, and The Athletic mentioned a game on June 25, 2025. It got a bit confusing with all these dates, but hey, more data is always good, right?
Then I thought, “Let’s get some details.” I started checking out the box scores. One site had the box score for a game on July 13 where the Reds won 5-4. I was noting down all the player names, their scores, and any other stats I could find. It was a bit like putting together a puzzle, but a fun one.
I also wanted to see if there was any comparison data between the teams. I stumbled upon this site that had head-to-head stats, you know, regular season, playoff stats, championships, and win-loss percentages. It was pretty cool to see how these two teams stacked up against each other over the years.
After that, I got a bit more specific and started looking for individual player stats. The official Cincinnati Reds site had some good stuff on hitting stats, home run leaders, and batting averages. I was jotting all this down, trying to get a clearer picture of who the standout players were.
What did I achieve with this?
- Found the Game Dates: I figured out the dates when the Reds and Yankees played or were going to play.
- Gathered Box Scores: I collected box scores from different games, giving me a bunch of player and team stats.
- Compared Team Stats: I looked at the overall performance of both teams, including their historical matchups and records.
- Dug into Player Stats: I got into the nitty-gritty of individual player performances, like who was hitting home runs and what their batting averages were.
So, that’s pretty much what I did. I started with a simple idea to check out some baseball stats, and it turned into this whole mini-research project. It was a blast, and I ended up with a ton of info on the Reds and Yankees. Hope you guys find it as interesting as I did!
