So, I was watching the game the other day, Alabama vs. Oklahoma, and man, it was a wild one. It was a tough game for Alabama, they were down 24-3 in the fourth quarter. Can you believe it? They haven’t had such a rough game in like, 20 years. No touchdowns at all!
Anyway, there was this one play that really got me scratching my head. It was in the fourth quarter, with about 14:07 left on the clock. Alabama, they were trying real hard to make something happen. Ryan Williams, he thought he scored a touchdown. It looked good from where I was sitting! But then, the officials, they called it back. Overturned!
I was like, “What the heck just happened?” Everyone around me was confused too. Later on, I heard that Alabama’s coach, Kalen DeBoer, he asked the officials about it. He shared what they told him, and it sounded like they might have gotten the rule wrong, you know? A misapplication, or something like that. It’s a bummer, right?
I went to look it up online, trying to figure out what went down. There was a bunch of talk about that play. People were saying it was a big deal, especially since Alabama was already having a tough time. A lot of fans seemed to think the touchdown should have counted.
- With 14:07 left in the fourth quarter, Ryan Williams seemingly scores a touchdown for Alabama.
- The officials review the play.
- The touchdown is overturned.
The Play
I kept digging, and it seemed like this wasn’t the first time something like this has happened in an Alabama game. I recall another game against Auburn, where Jalen Milroe made an incredible pass to Isaiah Bond. That was a crazy play too!
Anyway, I guess it’s all part of the game. Sometimes the calls go your way, sometimes they don’t. But this one, it really felt like a game-changer. Who knows what would have happened if that touchdown had counted? But hey, that’s football for you. Always full of surprises!
