Well now, let me tell ya, I heard folks talkin’ ’bout this Rex Baseball team, and I reckon it’s somethin’ worth mentionin’. They ain’t just a regular ol’ ball team; no, they’re part of somethin’ called the Prospect League, which sounds pretty fancy to me. From what I gather, they play their games over in Terre Haute, Indiana, and let me tell ya, folks around there are mighty proud of ’em!
Now, if ya wanna catch ’em in action, you’ll have plenty of chances this summer. They got their first home game comin’ up on June 4th, and believe me, the people are excited. That’s gonna be a big ol’ event, with folks comin’ from all around to watch ‘em play. They got a fancy field where they play too, called Bob Warn Field. It’s over on North 1st Street in Terre Haute, so if you’re near there, just follow your nose, and you’ll probably end up at the game!
But I ain’t done yet, no sir. There’s more games comin’. On July 5th, they’ll be playin’ against the Champion City Kings. Now that sounds like somethin’ worth watchin’. I reckon it’ll be a good ol’ fashioned rivalry, and I hear the crowd’s gonna be loud and rowdy, so if you’re the type to enjoy a bit of excitement, this is a game you won’t wanna miss.
And then there’s another game on June 3rd, 5th, and 6th, where the Rex team will be goin’ up against the Johnstown MillRats. They’ll be playin’ over at Art Nehf Field, which is on the campus of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. Now, I don’t know much about no fancy institutes, but I hear this Rose-Hulman place is a good spot, so it should be a good time. If you’re lookin’ for some summer fun, you might wanna mark those dates on your calendar!
Now, I’ve heard tell that if you’re lucky, you might even get yourself one of them magnetic schedules. Seems like Thomas G Brewster and his auction company are givin’ ’em away. So, you could end up with a nice little keepsake to remember the season by! Ain’t that somethin’?
So, if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ to do this summer, and you wanna watch some good ol’ baseball, go on out and support the Rex Baseball team. They got a full schedule, and I’m sure they’d love to see ya in the stands. It’s a great way to spend an afternoon with family and friends, and maybe even grab a hot dog or two while you’re at it.
And remember, you ain’t gotta know all the ins and outs of the game to enjoy it. Sometimes, it’s just about bein’ there, feelin’ the excitement, and watchin’ the team give it their all. That’s what it’s all about, after all. So, go on, grab your hat, and head on down to see Rex Baseball play this summer. You won’t regret it, I promise ya that!
