Okay, so, I dived into “Black Myth: Wukong” the other day. You know, that game everyone’s been buzzing about? It’s based on “Journey to the West,” but you don’t play as the Monkey King. Instead, you’re this ‘Destined One’ dude. I’m still figuring out the story, but it’s pretty cool so far.
Today, I wanted to get all the gear items in Chapter 3. Chapter 3 is called “White Snow, Ice Cold,” by the way. It’s a big one with a whole bunch of bosses—20 of them. Most are these scary Yaoguai things. I knew I needed to grab all the armor and weapons to make things easier.
First, I started hunting for armor. The game has a bunch of sets, and each piece gives you different stat boosts. I found out that if you collect all armor sets, you get this “Mantled with Might” achievement. Who doesn’t love achievements, right?
I spent hours exploring every nook and cranny of the “White Snow, Ice Cold” area. I fought a bunch of those Yaoguai bosses, and let me tell you, some of them are tough! But I managed to defeat them and found some cool armor pieces along the way. I’ve learned there’s this detailed walkthrough online, but I decided to just keep exploring on my own.
Next, I went after the weapons. There are 21 weapons in the game, and collecting them all (except one you get with the Deluxe Edition, which I don’t have) gets you the “Staffs and Spears” trophy. I already had a few, but I wanted them all. There are many types of gourds, curios, and vessels, but I ignored them for now.
- I found this one weapon hidden behind a waterfall. Sneaky!
- Another one was dropped by a Yaoguai Chief after a pretty intense fight.
- Some were just lying around in chests, which was a nice break from all the fighting.
After a lot of exploring and battling, I finally got all the armor sets and weapons in Chapter 3. It took a while, but it was worth it. My character is now decked out and ready for anything. Plus, I got those achievements, so that’s a win.
I also noticed that “Black Myth: Wukong” has its own characters and places that are different from the original “Journey to the West.” It’s like they took the story and made it their own, which I think is pretty neat.
Anyway, that’s my adventure in “Black Myth: Wukong” for today. I’m going to keep playing and see what other cool stuff I can find. Maybe I’ll even figure out the whole story of this ‘Destined One’ character.
