Okay, so, I’ve been thinking about getting a tattoo for a while now, and I finally decided to pull the trigger. You know, something that really means something to me, not just some random design. And as a huge wrestling fan, especially of Cody Rhodes, I thought, “Why not get something related to him?”
I remembered seeing this tattoo he debuted a few years back, the “American Nightmare” logo on his neck. It’s bold, it’s unique, and it ties into his whole wrestling persona. Plus, it’s a nod to his dad, Dusty Rhodes, the “American Dream.” I mean that is the man, a total legend, and that connection was pretty cool to me.
First, I spent hours looking up pictures online, trying to find the perfect reference for the tattoo artist. I wanted to make sure it was spot on, you know? And then researching tattoo shops around my area, reading reviews, checking out their portfolios. This was going to be on me forever, so I wasn’t going to rush it. Finally, I found a place that looked legit, with artists who seemed to know what they were doing.
Making the appointment was a bit nerve-wracking. I called them up, told them what I wanted, and the guy on the phone was super chill. We scheduled a consultation, which was great because I got to meet the artist beforehand and go over the design in detail.
On the day of the consultation, I brought in a bunch of reference photos, and the artist, was awesome. She listened to what I wanted, made some suggestions, and we finalized the design. It felt good to have someone who understood my vision.
Finally, the day of the tattoo came! I’ll admit, I was a little nervous, but mostly excited. I mean, I did it. I made up my mind. The artist prepped the area, got the stencil on, and then it was go time. The buzzing of the needle was a little intense at first, but I got used to it.
It took a couple of hours, but when it was done, I was stoked. It looked even better than I had imagined. The lines were clean, the shading was perfect, and it was exactly what I wanted.
Here’s a breakdown of what I did:
- Decided on the design: Cody Rhodes’ “American Nightmare” logo.
- Researched reference images: Scoured the internet for clear pictures.
- Found a reputable tattoo shop: Read reviews, checked portfolios.
- Scheduled a consultation: Met the artist, discussed the design.
- Got the tattoo: Sat through the session, got inked!
- Admired the result: Loved the final product.
Yeah, some people might not get it, but I love it. It’s a tribute to a wrestler I admire, a connection to wrestling history, and a reminder to chase my own dreams, whatever they may be. And honestly, it just looks pretty damn cool, if I do say so myself. Now I understand why Cody did this. I am so happy to wear my own brand so proudly!
So, that’s my tattoo story. What do you guys think? Any wrestling fans out there with ink inspired by their favorites?
