Okay, so I’ve been getting into UFC 4 lately, and I gotta say, it’s pretty addictive. I mean, who doesn’t love a good virtual brawl, right? Anyway, I started playing on my PS4, got pretty decent, and then my buddy got it on his Xbox One. Naturally, we wanted to go head-to-head, you know, settle the score and see who’s the real king of the octagon.
So, I fired up my PS4, he fired up his Xbox, and we tried to find each other in the online mode. We searched and searched, tried different game modes, the whole nine yards. Nothing. We couldn’t find each other’s games. It was like we were in different universes.
That’s when we started thinking, “Wait a minute, is this game even cross-platform?” I mean, it’s 2024, you’d think most games would be by now. So we paused the game, grabbed our phones, and started digging through some websites and forums.
After a good bit of searching, we found a bunch of mixed messages. Some folks were saying it was cross-platform, talking about it being “like building a bridge between two fierce kingdoms”. Sounds epic, right? But then, other sources were saying a flat-out “no” to cross-platform between PS4 and Xbox One. It was confusing, to say the least.
We kept digging, hoping to find a clear answer. We found posts saying stuff like, “UFC 4 doesn’t feature cross-platform compatibility,” and “You gotta stick to battling people on the same console.” My hopes were starting to dwindle. We even checked some info about the newer UFC 5, and guess what? No cross-play there either.
Finally, I stumbled upon a few articles that laid it all out. Turns out, UFC 4 doesn’t support cross-play between different platforms. So, no PS4 versus Xbox One, no PC versus Xbox, nada. I was bummed, to be honest. I really wanted to test my skills against my buddy’s.
- Tried playing UFC 4 with a friend on a different console.
- Searched in-game for a way to connect.
- Googled to see if UFC 4 is cross-platform.
- Found conflicting information online.
- Confirmed that UFC 4 does not support cross-play between different platforms.
It looks like the developers, EA, haven’t implemented cross-play for UFC 4, and from what I read, they don’t have any plans to do so in the future. I guess it makes sense if they haven’t done it for their other games like in UFC 5. I found that UFC 4 can only do that between PS4 and PS5.
So, yeah, that’s my experience with trying to play UFC 4 cross-platform. It was a bit of a letdown, but hey, at least I know now. Guess I’ll just have to stick to playing with other PS4 users. Or maybe I’ll just have to convince my friend to switch to PlayStation. Problem solved!
