That Slammy Awards, what a big deal in the WWE world! I heard it’s like the biggest prize for them wrestlers. This year, 2024, it came back after a long time. I heard it was gone for some years because of that sickness, what was it called? Oh yeah, the COVID. It’s back now and that’s all that matters, right?
Big Winners This Year
That Cody Rhodes, he sure is something. He won Male Superstar of the Year. Ain’t that somethin’? He also won best entrance. That fella knows how to make a show, I tell ya! He must be so happy, like a pig in the mud.
- Cody Rhodes – Male Superstar of the Year and Best Entrance
- Someone else won Match of the Year, Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley. I saw a little bit of that match, those girls can fight!
There was this other fella, Drew McIntyre. He was the big winner in 2020, Superstar of the Year they called it. He must have been somethin’ else back then. I heard they got a new award, Breakout Superstar of the Year, ain’t that fancy?
Slammy Awards, What’s the Big Deal?
Well, it seems like a big deal to those wrestlers. They get all dressed up and everything. It’s like their big night to shine. They even had folks vote on who should win. Like a popularity contest, you know?
I heard back in the old days, like 1996, there was this guy, Owen, and he won a Slammy Award. He was tag team with another man. They called him the “Slammy Award Winner”, such a name, huh? He hurt someone named Shawn Michaels, I reckon that’s why he got the award. Wrestling can be rough, I tell ya.
This Slammy Awards thing, it’s been around for a while. It went away for a bit, but it came back in 2020. They showed it on that WWE Network thing. That’s where you watch all the wrestling matches and stuff. They had it again this year, 2024, they say it’s going to be part of that big WrestleMania thing, whatever that is.
More About the Winners
That Cody Rhodes, he must be real proud. Winning two awards! Best Entrance and Male Superstar of the Year. He probably worked real hard for it.
And those two ladies, Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley, they won Match of the Year. I bet that was a good one. Ladies wrestling, who would have thought?
- Cody Rhodes – Best Entrance
- Charlotte Flair vs. Rhea Ripley – Match of the Year
This Year’s Slammy Awards
It was a big year for the Slammy Awards, I guess. They had it at that WWE World place. It used to be called something else, but they changed the name. They’ve been doing that a lot lately, changing names.
It’s all part of the “Road to WrestleMania XL”. That sounds important, don’t it? Like a big journey or something.
I don’t know much about this wrestling stuff, but those Slammy Awards, they seem like a big deal. Those wrestlers, they sure do love getting those awards. It’s like winning a blue ribbon at the county fair, I suppose.
Well, that’s all I know about the Slammy Awards. It’s a big to-do in the wrestling world. Those wrestlers work hard, and they like to be recognized for it. And that Cody Rhodes, he’s the big winner this year. Good for him, I say. He earned it.
I reckon I’ll keep an eye on this Slammy Awards thing in the future. See who wins next year. Maybe I’ll even watch some more wrestling. Those ladies sure can put on a show.
