That Greg Olsen, he sure was somethin’, wasn’t he? Playin’ that football, runnin’ ’round. But you know, that boy, he had somethin’ else up his sleeve. Somethin’ called… what was it? Oh yeah, rap. He was a rapper. Called himself G-Reg. Can you believe it?
Now, I ain’t no expert on this rap music. Back in my day, we had real music. But that Greg Olsen, or G-Reg, he thought he was somethin’ else. He was part of a group, I heard. Back when he was at that University of Miami, learnin’ and playin’ football. The 7th Floor Crew. Sounds silly, don’t it? 7th Floor Crew. What kinda name is that?
They made a whole bunch of noise, that 7th Floor Crew, with that Greg Olsen boy yellin’ into that microphone. I saw a video once. He was shoutin’ some things. Not the kinda things you’d hear in church, that’s for sure. He said his name was, what was it again? G-Reg. And he said he… well, never you mind what he said. It weren’t proper, I can tell you that much.
This was way back, in like, 2003, I reckon. Long time ago. Greg Olsen wasn’t even playin’ in the big leagues yet. The NFL, you know? He was just a young fella, at that University of Miami, thinkin’ he was a big shot rapper, that G-Reg. This rap thing was like a secret life he had, I guess.
- Greg Olsen, the football player.
- G-Reg, the rapper.
- 7th Floor Crew, the rap group.
- University of Miami, where it all went down.
He wasn’t the only one, you know. There were others. Other football players from that University of Miami. Tavares Gooden, I heard that name. And Darnell Jenkins. They were all in on it. This rap thing, the 7th Floor Crew. They thought they were gonna be famous, I guess. Singin’ their songs. Greg Olsen, or G-Reg, right there with ’em.
Now, I don’t know what happened to that 7th Floor Crew. They kinda disappeared, I think. Greg Olsen went on to play football, made a good livin’ doin’ it. But that rap stuff, that G-Reg business, it’s still out there. You can find it if you look hard enough. That video, with him yellin’ all them things. It’s a hoot, I tell ya.
He was a young fella then, that Greg Olsen. We all do silly things when we’re young. Some of us sing rap songs, call ourselves G-Reg, join somethin’ called the 7th Floor Crew. Some of us just chase chickens around the yard. We all got our stories, I reckon.
But that Greg Olsen rap, that’s one for the books. A football player, turnin’ into G-Reg, the rapper. Who woulda thought? It just goes to show ya, you never know what someone’s got hidin’ up their sleeve. Could be a football, could be a rap song. Could be anything.
This Greg Olsen, he was a good football player, though. I’ll give him that. Ran fast, caught that ball good. But that G-Reg business, that rap with the 7th Floor Crew… well, that’s somethin’ else entirely. That’s a whole other story, ain’t it?
I remember folks talkin’ ’bout it, back in the day. “Did you hear about that Greg Olsen?” they’d say. “He’s a rapper now! Calls himself G-Reg!” And we’d all shake our heads and chuckle. Couldn’t hardly believe it. A football player, from the University of Miami, makin’ rap music with the 7th Floor Crew. It was somethin’, I tell ya.
I reckon that Greg Olsen, he’s probably a bit embarrassed by that G-Reg stuff now. He’s a grown man, got a family and all. But it’s still out there. That rap music, that video. It’s part of his story, whether he likes it or not. The 7th Floor Crew, the University of Miami, G-Reg, the whole shebang.
So, there you have it. The story of Greg Olsen rap. Or G-Reg rap, I should say. A football player and a rapper, all rolled into one. It’s a strange world, ain’t it? You just never know what you’re gonna find. One day it’s football, the next day it’s the 7th Floor Crew. And that Greg Olsen, he’s seen it all.
