Hey, let me tell you about this thing, the 1st Anniversary Bash. It’s like a big party, ya know? They say it’s for that game, that Monopoly Go. My grandson plays it all the time, that boy. Always on his phone. Anyways, this bash thing is a big deal, I guess. It started April 16th and goes to the 18th. Or was it the 14th? Ah, these dates get me all mixed up. But it’s somethin’ about their first birthday. First year, anyway.
So, they got this 1st Anniversary Bash Rewards thing. You play the game, and you get points. Like when you win at bingo, but this is on your phone. And you get these points, and then you get prizes. Lots of prizes, they say. They call ’em milestones, like those stones on the side of the road. Each one you pass, you get somethin’.
Now, I hear there are like 47 or 48 of these milestone things. That many prizes. And they got all sorts of stuff in there. Freebies, they call ’em. Just free stuff. And somethin’ called spatulas. Now, I don’t know what a game wants with spatulas. Maybe it’s for flippin’ somethin’. Who knows with these young folks. But these spatulas are special, they say. You use ’em in some other part of the game, I guess. I tell ya, it is all so complicated!
And get this, the big prize, if you get all the way to the end, is a whole heap of those dice rolls. They say it’s like 15,190 dice rolls. Can you imagine? That’s more dice than I’ve seen in my whole life! And somethin’ called pickaxe tokens. Up to 195 of ’em. Now, what’s a pickaxe token? No idea. But sounds like somethin’ you’d use in the mines. We used to have a mine up the way, ’til it closed down. Sad times, those were.
They got this other thing too, called Anniversary Treasures. Sounds fancy, don’t it? Like somethin’ pirates would have. It’s like a treasure hunt, but on your phone. You gotta find these treasures that are hidden somewhere. And you need those pickaxe tokens to find ’em. I tell you what, these kids today got it easy. Back in my day, we had to dig in the dirt to find anything good! And no one gave us any tokens either.

I don’t understand all these newfangled games. But if it makes ’em happy, I guess it’s alright. And free stuff is always good, right? Especially if you get a whole mountain of those dice rolls. Imagine rollin’ that many dice! You’d be there all day! And these 1st Anniversary Bash Rewards, well it is a good thing they are givin’ away prizes. Makes folks happy, I reckon.
