Well, let me tell you somethin’ about this John Deere Monday qualifier 2024 thing. It’s a big ol’ deal, that’s for sure. You see, all them young fellas, they wanna play in the big John Deere Classic, but some of ’em gotta prove they’re good enough first. That’s what this Monday thing is all about. They all get together and play their hearts out, just hopin’ they’re one of the best that day.
This year, I hear tell it’s gonna be somethin’ else. They got this young whippersnapper, Davis Thompson, he won it last time. They say he’s gonna be back to try and win it again in 2025. I heard he played real good last time. This John Deere thing is from July 2 to 6, it is a big thing. Them golf fellers, they sure do like to hit that little ball around. And that Davis, with CT Pan, they went to some other big deal called The 152nd Open. Big shots, I reckon.
Now, this Monday qualifier, it ain’t for just anyone. You gotta be good, real good. They say only the top four fellas get to go on to the big tournament. Imagine that! Four! You could be swingin’ that club all day, and if you ain’t one of those top four, well, you’re just outta luck. They say this Joshua Creel fella, and Chase Johnson, Blake Hathcoat, and Anders Larson, they were the best this time. Good for them, I say.
And where do they do all this? Well, they play at this fancy place called TPC Deere Run, over in Silvis, Illinois. Sounds like a real nice place, all green and what not. This Larson boy, I hear he’s just a young’un, still in school. Good for him, makin’ a name for himself. I always believe that young people should do big things.
- This John Deere Classic, it’s a big deal, you know.
- They play it every year. This year is the 54th.
- Lots of fellas wanna play. 127, I hear.
- But after a couple days, they cut most of ’em out. Only 65 left.
They got this thing they call a “cut.” Now, I don’t know much about golf, but I reckon it means some folks just ain’t good enough to keep playin’. They start with, like, 127 of ’em, and after two days, they only let the best 65 keep goin’. That’s how they do things. It’s a tough world out there, even in golf, I suppose.
This ain’t the first time they had this kind of thing. I hear this is like the 13th time they had this Monday qualifier for the John Deere Classic. It’s a big to-do, lots of folks watchin’, lots of folks wantin’ to get in. They call it the Quad Cities tournament. I reckon it is a big thing for them.
Now, this Creel fella, I hear he was the best one out of all of ’em this time. Didn’t mess up once, they say. And he finished strong, too. That’s what you gotta do, I reckon. Finish strong. That is how you win at golf. And life.
So, this John Deere Monday qualifier 2024, it’s just a way for these fellas to show what they’re made of. It’s their chance to shine, to prove they belong with the big boys. And for us folks watchin’, it’s just plain entertainin’. We get to see these young fellas, full of dreams, givin’ it their all. And that’s somethin’ special, ain’t it?
I don’t know much about golf, but I know about hard work. And I know about chasin’ your dreams. And that’s what these fellas are doin’ out there on that green grass. They’re workin’ hard, and they’re chasin’ their dreams. And that’s somethin’ we can all admire, ain’t it? I reckon that’s what makes this whole John Deere PGA Tournament thing so interestin’. It ain’t just about hittin’ a little ball around. It’s about somethin’ more. It’s about the heart, and the grit, and the determination to be the best you can be.
They got all kinds of rules and such, I’m sure. But to me, it just looks like a bunch of fellas tryin’ their best. And sometimes, that’s all you can ask for. Just try your best and be a good sport.
I remember when I was young, there is nothing like this. We work hard, and we have fun. Now these young boys play golf. Good for them, I say. This PGA John Deere Classic must be a big thing for them.
