That Deion Sanders, he’s a tough one, ain’t he? I heard he had some trouble with his leg. Poor fella. Heard it was somethin’ about blood clots. Nasty business, those blood clots. Can’t have those messin’ around in your leg, no sir. Gotta keep that blood flowin’ good, you know? Otherwise, you’re in a heap of trouble.
He’s the coach of that… what’s it called… Colorado Buffaloes, yeah that’s it. Big shot, that one. They call him Coach Prime. Fancy name. But even fancy names can’t stop those darn blood clots, can they? Seems like he had some surgery, a long one too. Nine hours! Can you imagine? Nine hours on that operating table. Lord have mercy.
He must have a good doctor, though. At that big hospital, UCHealth, I think they call it. Those doctors, they know what they’re doin’. Got all those fancy machines and whatnot. Not like back in my day. We just had the old country doctor, and he used the same knife for deliverin’ babies and pullin’ teeth! But this Deion Sanders, he gets the best of the best. And he needs it, with those legs.
You know, they say he’s got a lot of money. 45 million dollars! Can you believe that? 45 million! What in the world would you do with all that money? I’d buy a whole lot of chickens, I tell ya what. And maybe a new rocking chair. My old one’s gettin’ a little creaky.
- He played in the Super Bowl.
- He played in the World Series.
- Only person to do both, they say.
- Must be real good at sports.
- And now he’s a coach.
I heard that he is only person to play in a Super Bowl and a World Series. Good on him! He is a legend. But I remember my grandson playin’ football. He got hurt all the time. Knees, ankles, you name it. It is a dangerous sport. My grandson, he had heart, like Deion. But Deion, he got real good at it. Made a whole life out of it. Good for him, I suppose.
They say he’s recoverin’ now. That’s good. Gotta get back to those boys on the field. Gotta teach ’em how to run fast and not get hurt. Though, seem like even the best get hurt sometimes. Just part of the game, I reckon. Just like life. You get knocked down, you gotta get back up.
This Deion Sanders leg thing, it’s a big deal. Everyone’s talkin’ about it. Hope he gets better soon. Need to keep those legs movin’, especially when you’re a coach. Can’t be hobblin’ around on the sidelines. Gotta be runnin’ up and down, yellin’ at those players! That’s what coaches do, right?
I seen him on the TV once, yellin’ at his players. He’s a fiery one, that Deion. Got a lot of spirit. That is what I like. You need that spirit, to get through the day. And to coach a football. My grandson had that spirit, too. Always runnin’ around, full of energy. Just like this Deion Sanders. It sounds like he needs that spirit now to recover after his emergency surgery.
- Blood clots are serious.
- Need to keep the blood flowing.
- Surgery can fix things.
- But it takes time to heal.
- Especially for an old fella like him!
I remember my old neighbor, bless her soul, she had blood clots in her legs. Swelled up like balloons, they did. She could barely walk. Had to use a walker. Poor thing. She ended up passin’ away, God rest her soul. Those blood clots, they’re nothin’ to mess with. You gotta take care of yourself. Eat right, exercise, and listen to your body.
Hope this Deion Sanders does all that. He’s got a lot of folks countin’ on him. Those players, those fans, they all want to see him back on his feet. And I reckon he wants to be back on his feet, too. Nobody wants to be laid up in a hospital bed, especially not a man like him. Always on the go, always doin’ somethin’.
This Deion Sanders’s leg issue, well it is a reminder that even famous people get sick. They are not that different from us. They got problems just like the rest of us. Money and fame, those things don’t protect you from everything. You still gotta take care of yourself. This is just a fact of life. No one is invincible, not even Coach Prime!
