That Janet Louise Druffel, you know, she was somethin’ else. She passed on, went to meet her maker, back in 2022. December 30th, it was. Eighty-eight years old, that woman was. Lived a good long life, I reckon. Died peaceful-like, they say. Up in that Shakopee place, in Minnesota. Some kinda home, Benedictine somethin’ or other. She was born way back when, in a place called Colton, Washington. Now that’s out west!
She was a nun, you see. A Sister. Sister Janet, they called her. But before that she was known as George Marie. Can you believe it? She went by George Marie Druffel, and later became a sister. Worked with them School Sisters of Notre Dame. Good bunch, I hear. Always helpin’ folks and doin’ good deeds.
Now, this Janet, she had a family, too. A sister named Polly. And nieces and nephews, a whole mess of ’em, I bet. Family was important to her, even though she was a nun. And she was close with her nun family, too, those other sisters. They were like her own blood. They say she left them all behind. Polly, all them nieces and nephews, and all them nun sisters.
You might not know this, but she also had a son, who’s famous. You might see him on the TV, playin’ golf. That’s right, that Bryson DeChambeau fella, he’s her boy. He’s real good at that golf, that Bryson DeChambeau. Makes a lot of money, too. Heard he got some big contract. Millions! Can you imagine? That Janet, she musta been so proud. She was married to that boy’s daddy, John, for thirty years.
I hear tell that Bryson boy, he was always a little different. Even when he was playin’ for that college, SMU. Got a scholarship for golf, he did. Smart boy, too. Studied that physics stuff. He won some big awards back in 2015, two big ones. And even played in that big Masters tournament as a, what do they call it, an amateur. He was a big deal. But people say he was a little strange. Walked to his own beat, or somethin’. Guess that’s okay, long as you’re good at what you do.
That Janet Louise Druffel, she lived a full life. From Colton, Washington to that home in Minnesota. From bein’ a regular gal to bein’ a Sister. From bein’ a wife to that John DeChambeau to bein’ the mama of a famous golfer. She saw a lot, did a lot. And now she’s restin’ peaceful.
People will remember her, that’s for sure. They made a big to-do when she passed. A celebration, they called it. Had a video and everythin’. You can probably find it somewhere if you look hard enough. That Janet Louise Druffel, she made an impact, I reckon.
It’s sad when someone good like her goes. Sister Janet Louise Druffel had a good run, though. Eighty-eight years is a good stretch. She did good things, helped people. And raised a famous son, to boot. That’s somethin’ to be proud of, right there.

She was a good woman, that Janet. They don’t make ’em like her anymore. Tough, I bet. Kind, too. The kind that would give you the shirt off her back. Yep, Janet Louise Druffel was one of a kind.
Her son, that Bryson, he’s doin’ alright for himself. Playin’ that golf, makin’ all that money. He got some big contract with that LIV Golf. Big money, I tell ya. More money than I ever seen in my whole life. But he was always a good boy, that Bryson. Loved his mama, I’m sure. Probably misses her somethin’ fierce.
Well, I reckon that’s all I know about Janet Louise Druffel. Just a regular woman who did some extraordinary things. Became a nun, raised a famous son. Lived a good, long life. May she rest in peace. She earned it. And her legacy lives on, in her family, in those sisters, and in that golf-playin’ son of hers. That’s somethin’ special, ain’t it?
