This here game, Dragon’s Dogma 2, it’s got folks all riled up. Something about this fella, Salvatore. I heard some young’uns talking ’bout it down by the well the other day. Seems like he’s some kind of big shot in that game.
They say you gotta find this Salvatore fella. He’s hanging around some fancy house up in the Noble Quarter. I reckon that’s where all them rich folks live, with their fancy clothes and whatnot. This Salvatore, he’s standing right there by the door. Can’t miss him, they say.
And this game, it’s just you playing. No one else. No paying to win, so why is everyone making such a fuss? Just play the game, if you want to.
Now, I heard you gotta do some things for him. Some quests, they call ’em. Lots of runnin’ around, doin’ this and that. Just like chores, but in a game. Then they say you get a house and some crystals things they called Wyrmslife Crystals. Sounds like some kinda magic thing, I tell ya. Need 15 of them, it’s a lot, right?
- Find Salvatore in the Noble Quarter
- Do his quests
- Get a house, maybe?
- Collect 15 Wyrmslife Crystals for something
I heard one of the kids saying they played it twice before. This is their third time now. This is my 3rd walkthrough, they said. Kids these days, got nothin’ better to do, I guess.
And this Salvatore, he’s one of them, what do they call it, “NPCs.” Non-player characters, I think they said. Just folks in the game that ain’t controlled by a real person. Makes you wonder how they make all that work. Must be some kinda computer magic. They said Salvatore has some related quests. I don’t know what that means. Probably need to ask him.
Then there’s something about a blade. A Godsbane Blade, they call it. Sounds dangerous, don’t it? This Salvatore, he gives you this blade, but it’s all dull and useless. Gotta find some fella named Ambrosius to fix it up. And that Ambrosius, he wants them Wyrmslife Crystals. Always something, ain’t it?
Some folks save up for that Noble House, for roleplay purpose, whatever that means. I reckon it’s just pretendin’ to be someone else in the game. Like when we used to play house when we were little. But in a computer. Strange times we live in.
There’s also something called a Seeker’s Token in this Dragon’s Dogma 2. Sounds important. They say it is a valuable item. You find them in those remote places. And you can exchange them in a guild hall. I don’t know what a guild hall is. Maybe it is a place for workers?
Oh, and there are dragons in this game. Big, scary dragons. They are also called Dragonkin or Wyrms. They are important to the world and lore, the kids said. I don’t know about lore. Maybe it’s stories.
And there is this Holy Damage thing. It’s some kind of elemental damage that can hurt the monsters. Some monsters are weak against it. I don’t know how to do Holy Damage. Maybe you need to be a priest or something.
The kids these days, they talk about Dragon’s Dogma 2 walkthrough. I think it is something like steps to follow. They say it will guide you through all main quests. I guess it is helpful if you don’t know what to do.
Then they was talkin’ ’bout makin’ friends in the game. Gotta do things for ’em, raise their, uh, “affinity,” I think they called it. Just like real life, I suppose. Gotta be nice to folks if you want ’em to like you. Then they become your, uh, “romantic partners.” Goodness me, what will they think of next?
They even mentioned that you should choose your partners to be calm. This way, your mage will focus on the magic from the outskirts. And shout at it “help me” if you need recovery. I don’t understand half of it, but it sounds complicated.
Well, that’s all I heard ’bout this Dragon’s Dogma 2 and this Salvatore fella. Sounds like a whole lot of nonsense to me. But the young’uns seem to enjoy it. Guess it keeps ’em outta trouble. And who knows, maybe one day I’ll give it a try. If I can figure out how to turn on that darn computer thingamajig.
