Well now, if y’all are curious ’bout Max Homa’s folks, let me tell ya what I know. Max Homa, the fine young man who plays golf real good, come from a couple folks named John Homa and Bonnie Milstein. As for Bonnie, well, I don’t know all the details, but I’ve heard she had a good head on her shoulders too. A lot of folks say that it’s her smarts and steady hand that helped Max keep his feet on the ground when things got tough.
Max, bless his heart, he grew up right. You can tell that the way he carries himself, it’s all thanks to his folks. He’s been playin’ golf since he was just a boy, and they must’ve been proud as punch to see him go off to the University of California, Berkeley. That’s where he really started shinin’. I reckon he won the NCAA Division I men’s golf title back in 2013, when he was a senior there. That’s no small feat, lemme tell ya. Takes a lotta hard work and determination to get to that level.
But don’t think just ‘cause he’s doin’ well on the tour now that it’s all been easy for him. No sir. Max has had to fight for everything. He’s one of them golfers what gets it done in big moments. Y’all remember the Presidents Cup? In 2021, he went 4-0, just like a man possessed out there. And at the 2023 Ryder Cup, when some of the other U.S. players were lookin’ a bit flat, Max turned it on. He finished with a 3-1-1 record, and folks say he was the best player for the U.S. team that year. Now that’s somethin’ to be proud of, don’t you think?
Course, he ain’t won a major tournament yet – not like some of them big names, but don’t you worry, I reckon it’s just a matter of time. At the 2024 Masters, he was mighty close, finishin’ tied for third. Folks are sayin’ that he’s on the brink of somethin’ real special. Just gotta keep at it, and with the way he’s been playin’, I wouldn’t be surprised if he grabs one of them big titles soon enough.
