Alright, alright, lemme tell ya ’bout this “out of action Patreon” thing, whatever that is. Sounds fancy, but it ain’t nothin’ but folks payin’ for stuff, ya hear?
What’s this Patreon Thingamajig Anyway?
So, from what I gather, this “Patreon” thing is like a club. You got these folks, they make things – videos, stories, pictures, whatever. And then you got other folks, the fans, who like what they make. Patreon’s like a way for the fans to give the makers some money, like a little thank you for their trouble, see? It’s like, instead of just buyin’ a thing once, you’re payin’ ’em regular, like rent for their makin’ stuff.
- They make things
- You like it
- You pay ’em a little somethin’ somethin’
“Out of Action?” Sounds Scary!
Now, this “out of action” part, I ain’t so sure about. Maybe it’s like a game, or a show, or somethin’ with lots of fightin’ and bang-bangin’. Maybe someone got hurt? Or maybe it just means they ain’t makin’ stuff for a bit. Who knows? These young folks with their fancy words, I tell ya.
Gettin’ Your Hands on It Early
Seems like some folks are real eager beavers and want to see this “out of action” stuff before everyone else. Patreon lets ’em do that, see? You pay a little extra, and you get to be one of the first to see the new video or read the new story or whatever it is they’re makin’. It’s like gettin’ the first slice of pie, still warm from the oven.
Givin’ the Gift of Makin’ Stuff
And here’s somethin’ kinda neat – you can even pay for someone else to join this Patreon club. Like, say your grandson’s crazy about this “out of action” thing, you can pay for him to get all the special stuff for a whole year. That’s better than another one of them noisy toys, ain’t it? It’s like buyin’ them a subscription to a magazine but for all sorts of things.
Keepin’ Track of the Money
Now, these folks makin’ stuff, they gotta keep track of their money, right? Patreon helps ’em do that too. Tells ’em how much they’re makin’, how many folks are payin’ ’em, all that fancy bookkeepin’ stuff. Important, I guess, so they can keep makin’ their things and not end up broke and havin’ to come live with you!
Sharpen your pencil. Sharpen your mind. Sharpen your skills! Seems like there is a community for everything! Patreon is not just a place for early access, or just a place for videos. You can find almost anything in the various Patreon communities. If you want to know a little secret, learning something new is not just for youngsters.
Where Do They Put All This Stuff?
So, where do they put all this “out of action” stuff they’re makin’? Well, seems like they use all sorts of places. Sometimes they put it right there on Patreon, special for the folks payin’ ’em. Sometimes they put it on other things, like that “YouToob” thing where all them videos are. They gotta give the payin’ folks a special link, though, so nobody else can see it. Sneaky, ain’t it?
Lots of Folks Makin’ All Sorts of Things
And it ain’t just this “out of action” whatever-it-is. There’s all sorts of folks usin’ Patreon – folks makin’ videos, folks writin’ stories, folks drawin’ pictures, folks makin’ music, even folks sharin’ recipes! Can ya believe that? People payin’ for recipes! Back in my day, you just asked your neighbor for a good recipe, ya didn’t have to pay for it. But I guess that’s how things are now.
It’s a Whole Community Thing
And it ain’t just about the money, see? It’s about folks connectin’ with each other, sharin’ their stuff, and buildin’ a little community. Like a town square, but online. Folks can talk to each other, share their thoughts, and feel like they’re part of somethin’. It’s nice, I guess. Folks need to feel like they belong, even if it’s just online.
So, there ya have it. That’s what I know about this “out of action Patreon” thing. Sounds complicated, but it’s really just folks payin’ other folks to make stuff and gettin’ a little somethin’ special for their trouble. And ain’t that what the world’s all about, anyway? Folks helpin’ each other out and sharin’ what they got.
Early Access is what the Youngsters want! The young folk really value seeing things first. It gives them a sort of status. It makes them feel special and “in the know”. I do not get it myself but they seem to value that first look.
I suppose this Patreon is just fine and dandy! Anything that helps people share and make a living is ok in my book. The world is a changin’ all the time and ya just gotta go with the flow. Patreon might be new, but so is television and so are cars! Hmmmph. Youngsters.
