Alright, alright, let’s gab about this Genshin thingy, the 4.6 version, or whatever they call it. My grandkids keep yappin’ about it, so I figured I’d try and make sense of it for ya.
So, this 4.6 thing, they’re addin’ some new places, two of ’em, they say. Fontaine, that’s the fancy name. One’s called Nostoi Region, and it’s got this little village, Petrichor they call it. Sounds like somethin’ you’d give a sick dog, but hey, what do I know? It’s on some island, stuck between Liyue, Sumeru, and that Fontaine mainland.
Now, there’s this new gal, Arlecchino. Real fancy name, huh? She’s the big deal in this update. They say she’s a 5-star somethin’-somethin’, Pyro Polearm DPS. Sounds like a whole lotta gibberish to me, but apparently, she’s a tough cookie. Carries around this big stick, a polearm they call it. But get this, it turns into a scythe! Like what the grim reaper uses! Though they say it’s just for show, ain’t no new weapon or nothin’. Just makes her look all spooky-like.
They’re gonna tell us all about it on April 12th, 2024, at noon, UTC time. Whatever that means. They got some fancy name for it, “Two Worlds Aflame, the Crimson Night Fades” Special Program. Sounds like a soap opera to me, but the kids are all hyped up about it. It’s a livestream, they say. You watch it on your computery thing or your phone, I guess.

They’re real excited about this Arlecchino character. Seems like she’s the main attraction, you know, like the prize at the county fair. She’s got this banner thing, Crimson Moon’s Semblance. And there’s another weapon thing, The First Great Magic. Sounds like somethin’ out of a Harry Potter movie, don’t it?
Now, when’s this 4.6 comin’ out? Well, they say late April. They got this schedule, see? Every six weeks or so, they put out a new one. No delays this time, they promise. And after this Arlecchino banner, they’ll have another one, Phase 2 they call it. More characters, more weapons, more things to spend your money on, I reckon.
So, if you’re one of them Genshin fanatics, keep your eyes peeled. April 12th for that livestream, and late April for the actual update. And don’t forget to mark your calendars, whatever that means these days, probably something on that phone of yours. Just don’t spend all your hard-earned money on this game, ya hear? There’s more to life than staring at a screen all day.
They’re always countin’ down to somethin’, these youngsters. Countdown to the livestream, countdown to the update. It’s like waitin’ for Christmas, only it happens every six weeks. Makes my head spin, all this talk of banners and polearms and DPS. But hey, if it makes them happy, I guess it can’t be all bad. Just remember to eat your vegetables and get some sunshine, alright?
So that’s the gist of it. New places, new characters, and a whole lotta excitement. Sounds like a whole heap of fuss to me, but then again, I’m just an old lady who prefers a good cup of coffee and a slice of pie to all this digital mumbo jumbo.
