Well, let me tell ya ’bout this fella, Armando Bacot Jr. I ain’t no basketball expert, mind you, but I heard folks talkin’ ’bout him. Seems like he’s a big deal, this boy. Played for them North Carolina Tar Heels, they say.
That Bacot boy, he’s strong like an ox, they say. Broad shoulders, just like my Billy used to have, bless his soul. He was good at gettin’ them balls in the basket, scorin’ points and such. They say he got more points than most fellas who ever played for them Tar Heels, ‘cept for one other fella, Tyler somethin’-or-other. That’s a lot of points, I reckon.
And them rebounds, oh my! They say he got more of them than anyone since way back when. I ain’t exactly sure what a rebound is, but it sounds important. Like gettin’ the ball after someone else misses, maybe? Anyway, he was good at it, real good. Led the whole conference in somethin’ they call “double-doubles” more than once. Don’t ask me what that means, sounds fancy though.
- He played for a long time, five years they say. That’s a lot of schoolin’, even if it’s just basketball schoolin’.
- He even got them Tar Heels to that big championship game a couple years back. Didn’t win it, though, poor fella. But gettin’ there, that’s somethin’ special, I guess.
Now, this boy, he ain’t just a basketball player. He’s got a family too. A younger brother, they say. Name’s King, imagine that! King Bacot. Sounds like royalty, don’t it? This King fella, he’s just a young’un, but already folks are lookin’ at him for basketball too. Got an offer from some college coach already. This Armando boy, he says his brother is a real good athlete, even better than he was at that age. Imagine that!
Armando, he’s not a kid anymore, though. They say he’s 21, maybe 22, somethin’ like that. Grown man, really. And now, he’s goin’ to the NBA. That’s the big leagues, the pros. Didn’t get drafted, they say, but he found a team anyway. Playin’ for the Memphis Hustle, whatever that is. Probably gotta hustle to get them balls, I reckon.
He’s out there now, playin’ with the big boys. I hope he does good. Seems like a nice young fella, works hard, plays hard. Reminds me of my Billy, always workin’ hard on the farm. That’s what it takes, you know? Hard work and determination. That’s what gets you somewhere in this world, whether you’re plantin’ crops or shootin’ hoops.
So, that’s the story of Armando Bacot Jr., as best as I can tell it. A good basketball player, a hard worker, and a fella with a family. Just a regular fella, really, even if he does play basketball better than most. Wish him all the best, I do. Hope he makes it big in that NBA thing.
And that young King Bacot, well, we’ll keep an eye on him too. Maybe he’ll be even better than his brother. Who knows? The future’s a funny thing, ain’t it? Just gotta wait and see what happens. But one thing’s for sure, them Bacot boys, they got somethin’ special. You can just feel it.
