Well, let me tell ya, there’s a gal by the name of Stephanie Dobbs. Now, I ain’t sure which one ya mean, ’cause there’s a few folks with that name, but I reckon we can talk ’bout a couple of ’em that come to mind. First off, I heard tell ’bout a lady who got herself in the ring, like them boxers ya see on TV. Yep, that’s right. She wasn’t no big shot or nothin’, but she sure did it to get in shape after havin’ her second young’un and, of course, make a little extra cash to help out with the family. Ain’t that somethin’? A lot of folks say boxing’s a rough game, but Stephanie Dobbs, well, she stuck with it for a bit.
Now, some of ya might be thinkin’ of another Stephanie Dobbs. Maybe one who’s more in the world of football. See, there’s a fella named Joshua Dobbs, he’s a quarterback for the NFL, and his mama’s name is also Stephanie Dobbs. Ain’t that a funny coincidence? Joshua, he’s had himself quite a journey in the big leagues, playin’ for a number of teams like the Tennessee Titans and the Arizona Cardinals. They sure do get around in them NFL circles, don’t they?
Stephanie, Joshua’s mama, well, she ain’t no stranger to workin’ hard either. I heard tell she retired from some big company called United Parcel Service (UPS). Now, I ain’t exactly sure what all she did there, but I reckon she worked her way up the ladder, eventually retirin’ as a regional manager in human resources. That’s a mighty fine achievement, if ya ask me. She worked hard to raise her young’un, Joshua, who’s been a real success in his own right.
Both of ‘em, Stephanie and Robert, done quite well for themselves. Robert, her husband, he was high up at Wells Fargo. So it’s clear that this family knows a thing or two about hard work and determination. They’ve got their roots deep in Georgia, in a place called Alpharetta. That’s where Joshua grew up, and I reckon he’s mighty proud of his roots. He’s a young man who knows what it means to work hard, thanks to the lessons he learned from his folks.
Stephanie Dobbs, whether she’s the boxer or the mother of that NFL quarterback, seems to have one thing in common: she ain’t afraid of a little sweat and struggle. She’s worked hard her whole life, and now she’s raisin’ her children to do the same. A good example for anyone lookin’ to make their way in the world.
And I reckon, that’s somethin’ we can all learn from. No matter where ya come from or what life throws your way, if ya put in the work, you’ll get somewhere. That’s a lesson that’s worth rememberin’, don’t ya think?
