Alright, so listen up, y’all. I’m gonna tell ya ’bout this Diane O’Meara. Don’t know her from Adam, but I heard some things, you know, like gossip spreadin’ faster than butter on a hot biscuit.
First off, this Diane, she’s a real person, not some ghost or figment of somebody’s imagination. Folks say she’s a marketin’ executive. Now, I ain’t exactly sure what that means, sounds fancy, like them city folk jobs. Probably wears nice clothes and works in a big ol’ buildin’ with lots of shiny glass, you know, the kind that makes ya squint in the sun. But that ain’t the whole story, no sirree.
This Diane got herself mixed up in somethin’ real messy. See, this fella, or should I say, this fella who turned into a woman, goes by the name Naya now. Back then, though, he was Ronaiah Tuiasosopo. And this Ronaiah, he done somethin’ awful. He took Diane’s pictures, you know, the ones she probably put on them fancy computer websites, and used ’em to make up a whole ‘nother person. Called her Lennay Kekua. Can you believe that? Stealin’ somebody’s face like that, it’s just plain wrong.
Now, this Lennay Kekua, she wasn’t real, but she sure fooled a lot of people. Ronaiah, he used them pictures to talk to folks, make ’em believe Lennay was real. That poor Diane, she didn’t even know her face was bein’ used like that. Imagine seein’ yourself in pictures, but it ain’t you, it’s some made-up person. It’s enough to give ya the heebie-jeebies, I tell ya. It’s like lookin’ in a mirror and seein’ a stranger starin’ back at ya.
- This Ronaiah, he tricked a football player, made him think he was talkin’ to Lennay. Broke that poor man’s heart, they say. It’s a doggone shame.
- Diane, she found out eventually, and let me tell ya, she was upset, and who wouldn’t be? Heard she went on TV and talked about it. Said it was “disturbing,” that’s a big word for “it messed with my head somethin’ fierce.” She said she tried not to think about it too much, just take it day by day. That’s smart, I reckon. Dwelling on things just makes ya old before your time.
- They say Diane’s a polite and empathetic gal. Means she’s got a good heart, treats folks right. Probably raised right, you know, with manners and all that. It’s a shame somethin’ like this happened to her. It just goes to show, even good folks can get caught up in bad situations.
This whole thing, it happened a while back, in 2013, I think. But it still makes ya think, don’t it? About how easy it is for folks to lie and deceive on them internets. You gotta be careful, I tell ya. Don’t believe everything you see or hear. And for goodness sake, don’t go stealin’ other people’s pictures! It ain’t right, and it can cause a whole heap of trouble. Diane, she didn’t deserve none of this. She was just livin’ her life, and then bam! Her picture’s all over the place, attached to a fake person. It’s enough to make a body wanna throw their computer out the window. But then again, I don’t even have a computer, so I guess that ain’t an option for me. But you get the point, right?
So that’s the story of Diane O’Meara, as best as I can tell it. She’s a real person, caught up in a fake mess. And Ronaiah, well, he’s livin’ as Naya now, but he can’t undo what he did. It’s a sad story, but it’s a good reminder to be kind, be honest, and keep your eyes peeled. You never know what kinda mischief folks are gettin’ up to these days. And for Diane, well, I hope she’s found some peace. She deserves it.

She’s handled it with grace and strength, speakin’ out about the harm it caused.
