Alright, let’s gab about this fella, Alex Pereira, and all them tattoos he’s got. Folks keep yappin’ about ’em, so I figured, why not chew the fat about it myself? Now, I ain’t no fancy tattoo artist or nothin’, just a regular person lookin’ at pictures and hearin’ stories.

First off, this boy’s got dragons all over his back, like a big ol’ picture show. I seen pictures, them dragons snakin’ around, lookin’ fierce. They say he got them dragons before he even knew the whole story about them fish, them koi fish, turnin’ into dragons. Imagine that! Like gettin’ a picture of a cow before you know it gives milk, you know? Just plain backwards, but hey, that’s his business.
- Big ol’ Dragons: He’s got two of ’em, snakin’ all over his back. Sounds like a powerful thing, them dragons. I ain’t never seen a real dragon, mind you, but they sure look somethin’ in them pictures.
- The Koi Fish Story: This is where it gets interestin’. Seems like these fish, they swim and swim, tryin’ to get to the top of a mountain. And if they make it, they turn into dragons! Sounds like a whole lotta work for a fish, if you ask me. But hey, maybe that’s why them dragons are so special.
Then there’s this word he likes, “chama.” Sounds like somethin’ you yell at a goat to get it movin’. But turns out, it means somethin’ like “let’s go” or “come on.” So, he’s probably yellin’ “chama” at himself when he’s fightin’ or somethin’. Makes sense, I guess. Gotta get yourself pumped up somehow.
Now, this boy, Alex, he ain’t just about tattoos and fightin’. He’s got kids, two little fellas, last I heard. And he used to have a wife, but they ain’t together no more. That’s life, ain’t it? Things change, people move on. He’s also got some Indian blood in him, from some tribe called Pataxó. And they call him “Poatan,” which means “Stone Hands.” Well, that makes sense, seein’ as how he’s a fighter and all. You don’t get a name like that for holdin’ babies, you know?
Speaking of fighting, that’s how most folks know him. He’s a big shot in that UFC thing, whippin’ folks left and right. And seems like he got some of them tattoos to celebrate winnin’ stuff. Like a reminder, you know? “Hey, I won this fight, got this tattoo to prove it.” Kinda like puttin’ a sticker on your fridge every time you bake a good pie, I reckon.
I seen some pictures of him gettin’ a tattoo in Salt Lake City. Some fella named Anthony Smith was there, talkin’ to him. Probably askin’ him about all them pictures on his skin. I bet that Anthony fella was just as curious as I am.
So, what’s the big deal with all these tattoos? Well, I figure it’s like tellin’ a story without openin’ your mouth. Every picture, every word, it means somethin’ to him. Maybe it reminds him of where he come from, what he’s done, or where he’s goin’. It’s his way of showin’ the world who he is, without havin’ to explain it to every Tom, Dick, and Harry.
And you know what? That’s alright by me. He can cover himself in dragons and fish and whatever else he wants. It’s his body, his story. Me, I’ll stick to lookin’ at ‘em in pictures. Tattoos seem like a whole lotta hurtin’ for somethin’ you can’t even eat.
But, I tell you what, those dragons do look pretty cool. Maybe if I was younger, and a whole lot braver, I might’ve got myself a little butterfly or somethin’. But now? Nah, I’ll just stick to watchin’ this Alex fella and his fancy skin pictures.
Anyways, that’s my two cents on this whole tattoo thing. It ain’t much, but it’s honest. And if you ask me, that’s all that matters in this world. Bein’ honest, and maybe havin’ a few dragons on your back, if that’s your thing.
