Ya know, that Miami Heat team, they got this fella, Burnie, he’s their mascot. Big ol’ thing, seven feet tall they say, like a walking fireball! Ain’t he somethin’? He’s been with ’em since the start, they say. Always jumpin’ around, gettin’ the folks all riled up. Makes ya wanna clap and holler, even if ya ain’t much for basketball.
Now, Burnie, he ain’t no ordinary fella. He’s got this orange fuzzy suit, kinda like a big ol’ teddy bear, but fiery orange. And hair? More like feathers, they say, stickin’ up all over. And his nose, well that’s the kicker! It’s a green basketball! Imagine that! A green basketball for a nose! Makes ya chuckle just thinkin’ about it.
- Big fella, 7 feet tall!
- Orange fur all over.
- Feathers for hair!
- Green basketball nose! Can ya believe it?
They say he wears a number, 0 or 00, on his jersey. Just like the players. Reckon he’s part of the team, even if he ain’t shootin’ hoops. He’s there to make folks happy, to get ’em cheerin’. And he does a darn good job of it, from what I hear.
Heard tell he got in a bit of trouble once, down in Puerto Rico. Pulled some lady onto the court, dancin’ and all. Turns out she was married to a judge! Oh boy, that musta been somethin’! But folks like him, you know? He’s just tryin’ to have fun, get the crowd goin’. Ain’t no harm in that, is there?
Burnie, that’s his name. Sounds like burnin’, like fire. Fits him, don’t it? He’s the Heat’s fireball, their lucky charm. See him on TV sometimes, jumpin’ around, makin’ faces. Kids love him. Heck, I love him! He’s just so goofy, so full of energy.
They had a big search, they say, when they started the team. Wanted a mascot, somethin’ special. And they found Burnie! Good thing too, ’cause he’s become a real part of the Heat family. Like one of their own.
So, if ya ever see Burnie on TV or at a game, give him a cheer! He’s workin’ hard, makin’ folks happy. And that’s somethin’ special, ain’t it? In this crazy world, we need more folks like Burnie, folks who make us smile, make us forget our troubles for a little while.
They say someone’s inside that suit, dancin’ around, makin’ Burnie come alive. Must be a hard job, all that jumpin’ and dancin’. But they do it good. They make Burnie real. He ain’t just a costume, he’s part of the team, part of the experience.
So next time ya see Burnie, remember, he’s there for you. To make ya laugh, to make ya cheer. He’s the Miami Heat’s mascot, and he’s one of a kind.
