Alright, so I decided I wanted to really get into the whole Survivor Series thing this year, the 2024 edition. Felt like a good project, you know? Keep track of how things were shaping up.

First thing I did was just start paying closer attention to the weekly shows leading up to it. Made a point to watch Raw and SmackDown, see who was beefing with who. It’s always a bit chaotic before Survivor Series, trying to figure out the teams.
Getting the lay of the land
Heard it was gonna be in Vancouver. That’s kinda cool, first big event there in ages, apparently. Rogers Arena. Put that down in my notes.
Then, the main thing: WarGames. It’s become the signature for Survivor Series lately. So, my main task was trying to figure out who would end up inside those cages. I started jotting down names, rivalries, potential alliances. It’s like putting together a big, messy puzzle.
- Started listing out the obvious contenders.
- Tried to spot who was getting the big reactions or involved in the major storylines.
- Made notes on possible team captains.
Tracking the key players

The women’s side looked interesting early on. You had names like Bianca Belair, Naomi, IYO SKY, Bayley floating around. And Rhea Ripley, she’s always in the mix somehow. Seemed like they were building towards a big clash there. I spent a fair bit of time trying to guess which side everyone would land on.
Then the men’s side… man, that Bloodline drama. It just keeps going, doesn’t it? Roman Reigns, The Usos (well, Jey and Jimmy, though they’re split), Solo Sikoa. And now Jacob Fatu is in the picture. It felt like that had to be one side of a WarGames match. Then you throw in Sami Zayn and CM Punk potentially opposing them? That got really complicated, trying to map out who hated who more at any given moment.
Putting it all together (sort of)
So, I kept updating my notes week after week. Scratched out names, added new ones, drew arrows trying to connect the dots. It wasn’t exactly scientific, more like gut feelings based on promos and matches.
Leading right up to the event, I had my final ‘best guess’ list for the WarGames teams written down. Felt pretty okay about some of them, less sure about others. It’s tough, wrestling booking is designed to surprise you sometimes.

The Payoff
When the actual event happened, I compared my notes to the real thing. Saw the result for the women’s WarGames match – Bianca Belair, Naomi, IYO SKY, Bayley, and Rhea Ripley getting the win by pinfall. Looked like a powerhouse team on paper, so that made sense based on what I’d been tracking.
The men’s match with all the Bloodline chaos and the potential involvement of Punk and Sami was definitely the big story I followed. Seeing how that actually played out compared to my weeks of scribbled notes was the final step. It’s kinda satisfying just following the whole process through, even if you don’t get every prediction right. Just the act of tracking it all was the main thing for me this year.
